Currently drawing 2-2 at Mansfield in the Central League Cup. A. J. Greaves and Jacob Fletcher have scored our goals.
-
Lost 4-2 in the end.

Just not good enough (for some). ;)

Hound, if it really was a side containing youngsters playing above their normal standard, then they have done well to compete, and it is good to know, the problem has been the repeated failure of more senior players to compete at that level, who should have been putting in performances that would push them into the first team, which they repeatedly did not do, and when getting a chance in the first team blew it.
I hope the manager takes note of the youngsters performances and plays them in other games, he might as well, we may even get one or two progress to the first team if they get the chance.

Out of curiosity, how many of these development games have you attended this season Selby?

Oh, none of them outside of the League Cup tie with Blackpool. But I'm not the one using our players' alleged poor performances in these games to criticise the squad so whether I've been to them or not is irrelevant. I was just curious as you are one of the vocal ones whenever we lose one of these meaningless friendly games.

So it was a mixture of U18 side first year professionals and Tommy Rowe.
DONCASTER XI: Ogley, Walker, Smith, Fletcher, Rowe, Foulkes, James, Greaves, Morris, Boocock (Watson 84’), Gibbons (Barnett 64’).
UNUSED SUBS: Baldock-Smith, Husani, McGowen.
By the way Alias it was the manager who said he had 15/16 players fighting for the first team. So he has realised the squad he had was not good enough that’s why is bringing in 2/3 more players and hoping to move some out on loan.

Not a bad result to say it was 4 first year pros and the rest U18s. Rowe didn't play and they had a strong U23 team out by all account.

RA, I didn't think I had seen anyone with a smiley face at those games. You didn't miss much.
