...for and against in 25 league games.
It's fun, int it?
-
It is Billy, we are not having to try to stay awake like we did last season.
-
Ha! Brilliant. It beats the Fergie Dirge eh...
-
We are manifestly better than last season on every level. No argument.
-
After 25 matches last year, there'd been 55 goals in our games. 28 for, 27 against.
Compare with 42 for, 32 against this year.
Which do you prefer?

It's good for the fans and players alike, looking at the second half of the season nearly all 5 top teams in L1 have double our goal difference except Barnsley with 18, I'm confident we'll be in the play off as we now have the ability to bounce back from losses but it's a big ask to make up the difference of 9 pts to be competitive for auto-promotion.
Hopefully we'll see some stability in form with help from some good signings.

I’m feeling more positive about Grant McCann than I think I have for any manager since Billy Bremner.
Why? Because he has the ability to read games and make the right adjustments. He can switch to plan B etc. In my mind that’s a pretty rare quality. There have been some times when it hasn’t worked - e.g. the two Fleetwood games, but for the most part, GM’s been tactically astute.
I loved some of the stuff we played under SOD and ROK but we struggled when plan A didn’t work. Similarly DP has us playing some great stuff at times but was ultimately found lacking at times tactically.
What we do know about GM is that he does his homework. He analyzes stats and watches a lot of games. Strategically he’s on top of things.
We have the makings of a great manager here.

There has been a massive points swing at the top of the PL in just ten days or so.
No reason it can’t happen in our division.
-
And of course we f**ked away a massive lead ourselves not so long ago. Was it 12 points over the eventual champions at one point?
-
We were already promoted then though, Luton , Pompey or Sunderland may do the same but I’m not sure they’d let it happen before they’ve secured promotion

Exactly. Same in the relegation zone. 12 points is nothing at this time of year.
Teams come with late surges, why not us although it doesn't need to be that late. Just gain a couple of points here and there. March will be a key month.

Its got me taking 8 hour return Coach trips to Gillingham - something I never contemplated during our last ex Manager !!
The Team / Squad are really trying at the moment and while some games dont work out I look at them home or away and figure lots of games WILL go well
I was a bit bored after 15 to 20 minutes yesterday as there was little atmosphere and little entertainment on offer but once we went 1 up I felt that was that and 3 or 4 nil would not have flattered us at the end
Made the 4 hour return seem like 20 minutes (ish)

Totally agree with the comparison with Bremmer.
-
I sincerely hope Grant is our manager in 5 years time- that’ll mean he’s been incredibly successful and we’ll be an established Championship club

Is that a five year plan?

Well said, agree with that.

Surely you mean Premier League by then?

What a performance 1-5 ....... yellows that is, and we improved our GD by 50% in one match and JM got a brace, it must be one happy dressing room.

Still receiving therapy for that.
