Reports were about to sign right back arron Lewis on loan from Swansea
-
Where did you get that from
-
it's mentioned by a few people on Twitter today...Not sure on this one,we've a decent record with the kids on loan but again this lad has never played pro football, think this would be one to many risks in that department this time...
-
He got the winning goal for Swansea in the EFL cup
-
On his twitter account, he re-tweeted the news story about Herbie Kane's loan extension.
-
It gives us options in the right back position, and also allows Mason to cover the centre half position when he is fit.
The best thing is that teams with good Academies and youth teams are willing and trust us to bring their players on, and up to league level, and give them a good start to their career.
It is not long ago we were way back in line when other clubs trusted us with their better prospects.
-
I know what you are saying Selby but you have to Balance youth with a bit of experience..For the RB position I would like to see a bit more experience than a kid with just a couple of Pro Games to his name..One of our big weaknesses is balls into our box so the full back positions are pretty vital..
That said GM hasn't let nobody down so far with these loans so if he does arrive I wont complain and see how he fares..

Lad needs a hair cut - unless he's going to join the Marquis hair bun club....
-
tbh His job wouldn't be to score goals and he certainly wouldn't be taking freekicks so that's irrelevent..It's his out and out defending he would be here for..
-
If they're good enough they're old enough.
-
I don't even think that Swansea would see him as a certain starter every game here, assuming we keep Mason after the January window.
He would be here to get more experience of a football life, a different perspective of what is required, toughen him up, and see if he can make an impression, and learn from different coaches and tactics in a game.
If he forces his way to getting a regular game, it will stand him in good stead for a future in the game.
One thing to be considered is Mason's situation as regard to will he be staying with us, or moving on.
His present contract is until June 2019, and could be one for the future here, and a way to get an early look at him, and assimilate him into the club.
-
He dint take the free kick and yes he will trip him self up with that hair
-
Officially confirmed now. Loan till end of the season!
-
A replacement for Cummings more than likely, can't see us giving him a deal with getting injured. Hopefully the rumours about Wright from Sheff Utd are true then we are in a cracking position.
-
Confirmed until end of season
-
Liam Hoden just tweeted.
DONE DEAL: You wanted a defender, you got one. Rovers sign versatile Swansea full back Aaron Lewis on loan until the end of the season #drfc
He is available for the FA cup
-
Unlucky for Cummings though.
He was beginning to play quite well.
From the video clips, the Swansea lad seems to get forward well.
-
Just a bit of insurance I imagine.
-
Lewis in, Cummings and Lund out then.
-
Why would we get rid of two for one
-
Hopefully he will be better cover for us than Cummings, looks more mobile going forward.
-

Has Lund played at all this season ?? Idd class it as Cummings out, Lewis in
-
That's better lol I thought he had played once but I'm probably wrong
-
Interesting that he is out of contract in June 2019
-
does that mean Masons going (rumours)

I thought there was some rule about young players having to have a new contract agreed before they could go out on loan over the last six months of their contract.
Wasn’t that the panic over Kane and Wilks being allowed to stay with us for the rest of th the season.
-
Never heard of that as a rule, more it’s s prsctical arrangement for the parent club.??
-
Yeah there's no rule, just the club wanting to tie their players down.
-

Hardly.. would we let a top quality contracted player leave with a temporary loanee as a replacement.?
-

I don’t know if it is a rule either.
I just thought (as I said) that it was the case.
I was sure it was spoken about on this forum.

he was total rubbish at Fleetwood

Harsh. The whole team were off colour at Fleetwood.
-
I know you was there as I was and I know you know your football as most on here do so you should have seen a the balls he missed and could not be bothered to move half a foot to collect it and a lot of the time he was hiding behind there players so harsh I think not that is how me and some others saw it
-
One poor game when everyone was poor doesn’t mean he’s no good.
He also contributed greatly to the significant run of clean sheets we had recently
-
And breathe....
-
Back onto Arron Lewis I have been reading a few comments from the swans fans a fair few wanted him in the 1st team when they had some injuries so fingers crossed we have a good youngster that will step it up.
Also this is what he put on his Twitter
Delighted to sign for @drfc_official on loan until the end of the season. Ready to push on now and make sure the club get back to where they should be! 🔴⚪️
Sounds like he wants to make an impact good lad

TBF, it's exactly what you would expect him to say..... he's hardly going to say he's not arsed about coming...
-
It was more the 'back where they should be' comment that I was impressed with
-
I don't think anyone genuinely thinks the Championship is where we "should be", but it's definitely where we need to be.
-
Perhaps his main recollections of our history in his lifetime are from when we were a Championship club!
-
All the favourable comments seem to be about how well he gets forward, but can he defend?
