Title: Man City v Liverpool
Post by: Guernsey Exile on January 03, 2019, 04:21:59 pm
What's everyone thinking tonight?

I reckon on a Liverpool win but the office think City will win.

Hopefully a decent match

Should be a great game..

Not really off topic though.??

If Liverpool can win this it makes the rest of the premier league season very interesting.

Can't stand the PL. It signifies everything that is wrong with football today.

I understand that view, that's why i put it in off topic - should be a decent game though

I put it in off topic as above really - its not everyone's cup of tea - and was just up for a discussion rather than a battle about the rights and wrongs of the Premier League :-)

If Liverpool win it’ll give them that confidence boost to go on. In past season they’ve slipped up against the top 5 clubs and their heads have dipped in the subsequent games.

I hope Liverpool go on to win it, just so it’s soneone different for a change!

Don’t make Rovers predictions any more other than saying WIN on the prediction league.
This isn’t Rovers so here goes, 2-2 tonight. So you now know what the score won’t be.

1-0 Liverpool. If Liverpool wins then that’s title race over so for a neutral hoping for a City win

.... you need to do Super6 so I dont finish bottom every week unless you already do !
I'm like Stan Bowles ( a legend of a player for QPR for those under 45). He liked a bet lets say and one of his favourite quotes was :
" I am the worlds worst Gambler - but if there WAS a prize for it I would come Second !!!)
I think back to the point City to win well 3-1 so we now know 2 scores it wont be  -

They're all stood up! Im looking forward to reading their forums after, where they no doubt will be moaning endlessly about it, and not talking about the match.

Just watched Aguero trap a ball that brought a big cheer from the fans, made me think we watch Copps do that nearly every week, only difference is Copps makes the defender look a mug aswell, how lucky we have been, & still are.

Don’t think Aguero is too bad at making defenders look like mugs either.
Wouldn’t mind having both in our team.  :)

Not sure of your point? Your probably just being pedantic.
My point is, all the scousers are stood, and of all the mancs that are stood, they are enjoying the match, and not whining about being stood for 45 mins.
Just engrossed in an entertaining game.

The point I am making is that you said “they are all stood up”.
Implying that everyone in the ground was standing up.
Clearly they are not.
Not being pedantic at all.

So your point is we should all stand up in an all seater stadium and not moan. Brilliant Boomstick.
We are not all 21 year olds like you. Or are you 16? Get a grip man. :headbang:

Only thing great about Manchester is the M60/62 Eastbound heading for God’s Country.

all i can say is thank heavens for VAR tonight
without it Liverpool would have got lucky once again like they did against City in the champions league

when Liverpool qualified for the semis -(note to careful  choice of words) there were only 2 of us on here yours truely and Rigo (where is he by the way ?) who thought Man City were unlucky

If VAR had been in operation then   the offside goal and another would have been ruled out THEN Oxlade scores a one in a million goal also known as a "fluke"(then gets a one in a million injury)

i said this in April this year after Liverpool "qualified"

I was just thinking of all the bad decisions and the very bad decisions City got against 'Pool over the 2 matches

and trying to find a match when was it steve evans boston scored 2 last minute goals at Belle Vue - to win 2-1 AND YOU KNEW THERE NAME WAS ON THE CUP (PROMOTION) no trace on the internet when i accidentally found this

http://www.bostonunited.co.uk/teams/24809/player/liam-wakefield-1921478

Wakefield to Boston via Morecambe

expect 'Pool v Roma as they play up their luck

it made no difference to me who won last season but tonight I hoped the luck would even out and thanks to VAR it did.

But I have taken a dislike to Klopp who after the Burnley match he wanted to outlaw slide tackling on wet pitches because one of his defenders got a long term injury.
"Snowflake Klopp" is a good nickname for him as he attempted to single handedly add to the re-writing of the rules of a sport once known as "football"

yes you are right :chair:
i keep calling the goaline thing Var because other countries have it -- the point is Liverpool were very lucky with many decisions in the two matches FACT in last season

For the Man City goal Lovren was in be careful mode (slower reaction ?) after he also got booked for a possible sending off offence whilst "nice man " Mr Company got lucky AGAIN he should have been sent off in the first minute at Maine Road a month ago when he "cleaned out " Lennon but the ref bottled it.

Lovren is their obvious liability

I doubt he should have been sent off at Maine Road... unless he went back in time and played?

How long have you had this hatred for Liverpool?; have you considered therapy?.
