Apparently we have told Rovvrum to sod off after their approach for John Marquis was rejected.
When I was a youngster in the 80’s any bid however derisory was accepted by our then board of directors for any of our promising players - no wonder we never really achieved anything much of note.
Point being we now have a proper board of directors who see the merits of having our footballing assets on the pitch rather than in a bank account

Mills £750£
Sharp £1.2m
Not quite the same as thirtybob from Rothscum
-
Obviously he wants to play in the Championship next season with Rovers not Division 1 with them :rtid:
-
Wonder what the offer was?

There's certainly more chance of us being in the Championship than them next season.

Bet it was a cheeky £700 k or around that , would not sell to them for 5m

Grant McCann said today that rumours of bids for Marquis were untrue.
-
😂 why do rotherham think they can afford him? And why would they think he would go there ?
-
I would laugh at any offer below 3 million

My point was in my op was that kids & youngsters today basically gave no idea just how crap it was following DRFC after the Bremner 2x promotions of the early mid 80’s nor did they have to go through the trauma of Richardson/Dinard debacle - for the last 20 years barring the experiment it’s been fantastic to be a part of our club & so the youngsters of today have not suffered the hardships I did supporting them as a kid & through to early adulthood

Absolutely right. In those days we sold a player as soon as they ran into a bit of form!
