Afternoon All - I know it is a bit early however i will promote closer to the game, this is just to see if any of the forum members would like the chance to play alongside the DRFC legends team this year. Given the success of last years event we are making it the DRFC vs Leeds Utd legends again.
To be in with a chance to play, all you have to do is raise £500 through sponsorship. If you think you can achieve this then email info@evetrust.co.uk, alternatively if you are a business and would like to sponsor the game please drop an email to the same address and you will be advised of packages available.
If you attended last year i am sure you will agree it was a brilliant day, a brilliant game with some unbelivable goals, and of course DRFC were victors quite convincingly.
Again this year, Eves Trust Ambassador Brian Stock will captain the team and i know he is looking forward to 'coming home' once again
As i say nearer the time i will update with players etc but i will tell you that one player who was a crowd favourite is coming over from his native Ireland to part take in the game :clapping:

Don't invite Danny Mills back. What a Kitson.
Though it's obviously going to be Paul Keegan who's coming back... ;)

We love Paul Keegan, because he's got no hair
We love Paul Keegan, because he's everywhere
We love Paul Keegan, trust in me when I say...

If Keegan scores we're on the pitch
If Keegan scores we're on the pitch
Belting free kick against Burton a couple of seasons back

Good guess but it isn't Paul Keegan......................
As for Mr Mills, he had to play the villan and upto the crowd, he did apologies to Stocky after the game.......however he hasn't forgotten about the incident and i am sure karma will have been worth waiting for :woot:
-
Not going* if you don't get Keegan.
*to be very happy ;)
-
The Legend who i am refering to will be someone who will make you buy your ticket, trust me on that one RedJ buddy.

So the announcements have started for the legends game.....so far
Brian Stock is back again this year, if you were there last year you would have witnessed a midfield masterclass as well as a superb goal from Stocky...
Also confirmed and coming over from Ireland for the game is Paul Heffernan who I am sure many DRFC Fans are looking forward to seeing maybe one last time.
For Leeds, last years villain Danny Mills has signed up, sure he will be looking to exact revenge against Stocky and the DRFC Legends and hoping to score the goals to win the game this year we are really pleased that Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has agreed to play, an exciting player to watch and sure he will be ready to cause havoc on the day

For some reason I now have a free weekend so will be there.
Will there be chance for autographs as Roversdude jnr has become something of a collector.
-
Good luck to all involved and I hope its as good as past games have been. I cant be there, unfortunately, as I'm in Manchester at a festival but I hope it raises a ton of cash.
-
Is this on ifollow at all?? I wouldn’t have thought so but my mum wants to listen to/watch it as she’s undergoing radiotherapy at the moment and isn't well enough to attend. I said I’d ask as I couldn’t find anything on DROS. Cheers

There will be, I’ll be around the dug our area and I always get the lads to sign when anyone asks me or if anyone is shouting them 👌
Look forward to seeing you there

Hi Mate,
Sadly it isn’t being streamed I’m afraid, a DVD is out to sale about 2 months after the game but that’s about it sadly.
All the best to your mum in her treatment - if you go into the Eve merton website there is a ‘Dream Request’
If there is anything your mum would like to do and it’s something the charity can help with, please complete the form and we can see what we can do
-
What stands are open & how easy is it to rock up on the day?
-
Last year it was just the West stand open

What stands are open & how easy is it to rock up on the day?
West Stand again open, tickets are on sale on the day, last year we sold 1,000 on the day (it was a beaut day so i would assume this was a major factor, plus of course the players there)
All of the players i have got to play this year were contacting me after last years game, i even had to say no to a few of the lads who asked me as we have the full quota.
Seriously for what it costs - i hope most Rovers fans show up, if last years game (and goals) is to go by it will be a brilliant day.....
