I travelled down this morning for a long weekend. 20 miles from Fratton Park and there's been a light dusting of snow. Nothing to worry about.

4*C in Pompey now, and due to rain later. Non freezing night and sun forecast for saturday. Even southern southerners can deal with the bit of soft snow there.

The players departed for the Deep South this morning, probably tooked up in bed now watching the PNE game - in which case they’ll be bored to sleep by now.

Just watching the BBC news and the M3 is blocked both ways, due to jackknifed lorries.

Hope there's no Rovers fans stuck in it!

Flight in to Southampton delayed an hour last night. They had to de-ice the plane but the weather is fine down here this morning.

Dunno what I was fussed about. Only issue I had was the M1 being closed going home because of a vehicle fire.

I passed that vehicle fire just as it burst into a fireball mate. Near to J29a.

Hope everyone that was in it got out.

Yep, that's the one. What actually happened? just sat on the roadside and went up in smoke? if it was on the hard shoulder you'd hope everyone was already on the side of the road, but with it being as cold as it was...

Don’t know exactly what happened but as we approached, a car on the hard shoulder was on fire then there was a big fire surge and the whole car erupted into a fireball.
There were two or three cars in front of me who went over to lane 4, so I did as well.

As we went past we slowed down, there was a bloke twenty or so yards away from it and three cars had already stopped on the hard shoulder just ahead of the burning car.
People were running back to it.

Because of that we didn’t stop as it looked as though there would be nothing more we could do to help.

I have looked online this morning and there is a small report about it but it only says that it was an LPG fuelled car and it caused big queues.
No indications that anyone was hurt thankfully.

Were you held up by the queues.

Yeah, I was right at the front of the traffic that the transport police held up (otherwise I'd probably have had no idea why it was closed until I looked on here). We were held up half an hour or so as they coned off the motorway plus probably added ten minutes slowing us down to the stopping point. All in all the actual stretch of the journey didn't take any longer, just had to get off and get back on at the first junction after the incident.

Glad we stopped off for a top up at the garage before we left for home otherwise the kids might have had to see that...
