Title: Mallik Wilks
Post by: ChrisBx on February 02, 2019, 03:36:26 pm
That goal is his 10th of the season which is good going for a 20 year old who is in his first season as a regular starter.

Any chance of keeping him beyond this loan spell?

He is a top player. Said it before, compare his behaviour and focus vs that opening game where he was wild. Become much more professional but needs to iron out some of his ‘bright ideas’ hat emerge now and again.

Think he signed a new contract at Leeds so unlikely we would get him unless as another season long loan next year hopefully in the championship

If Leeds go up, and we go up, then you never know. Same as people have said about Kane in some ways.

He’s still young. Blows hot & cold, makes some poor choices BUT I’ll wager not many defenders fancy playing against him.

That is the way to stick a 1on1 away

He took the goal well, the nod on was perfectly weighted. Kept his composure too.

His game was much more mature today ..and his strength and balance on the ball makes it difficult to check him .He was well positioned for the clearance out of defence but still had 30 metres to run withe ball to hit the goal.Well’done Malik ..10 goals makes you a very good back up to JM in the goalscoring charts .

Strange isn’t it one week people on here say Wilks is a waste of space and the next week he is the best thing since sliced bread.
If he reads the comments on here it is no wonder he blows hot and cold with his performances.
Got huge potential imo and if he listens and takes on board what he is being told by the manager and coach then he can become a very good player over the next season or two. ( Hopefully with us )

We really need to try and keep this guy. His goal yesterday shows just what his pace & strength brings to our team. Yes he is inconsistent, but hes only gonna get better the more game time he has. Going back to Leeds and waste away in their reserves is not what he needs either.

I can see Leeds wanting to loan him out again next season. Looking at a few of their loan players, they have a few in their second season on loan at the same club, Lewie Coyle (Fleetwood) and Liam Kitching (Harrogate). I suppose a lot of it will be up to the player and whether he is enjoying his loan.

He's already got all of the physical and skills attributes to be a top footballer, it's just his decision-making that makes him inconsistent.  Hopefully he will get that playing for us.

People dislike him because of David Cotterill syndrome. Many of our fans prefer people with no end product that run around a lot to players who are perhaps more inconsistent in their contribution but have a much higher level of ability and productivity.

A lot will be dependant on his Crown Court date, I’m sure many of the high principled people on here would not want him playing for us if he’s convicted of a crime relating to gang culture

the smile on his face after the goal spoke a thousand words...   plus, in GM he has a manager who seems to know exactly how to nurture young talent to get the best out of them.

Have you all seen the picture of Kane Wilks and Smith to say they look happy is an understatement
