What's that you say, the Tories promised if they were re-elected in 2017 they would be protecting free tv licences for the over 75's. Surely not, that would be breaking a manifesto promise?

Why don't they just get rid of Vanessa Feltz? That should save them a fortune in the canteen alone.

I don't really mean it. I just thought it was 1970s comedy morning.

The over 75 tv licence should stay as it is. However I do think that some of the wages paid to some of the staff at the BBC are quite ridiculous. How hard can it be to read the news without muffing your lines!

I think the tv licence should be abolished and the Bbc should be made to raise revenues through adverts

God forbid Filo.

Where TV is entirely commercial it is bleeding awful.

I've got plenty of criticisms of the BBC, but compared to most US or European TV it is a beacon of quality.

Restrict the ability to pay for the best and they'll just go to the commercial stations who are free to pay what they like.  That would just drive down the standards that the BBC has a worldwide reputation for.  Another globally admired UK institution along with the NHS, driven into the ground.

Has it actually changed yet?
I thought I is just a proposal.

I'm talking about by who this concession was made and how it was funded before this bunch of cowards we call a government cravenly dumped everything onto the BBC and walked away from it.

Crikey do we know how many over 75 will be? Will it be 76 or more? Hope I'm not one of the unlucky ones
