Didn’t recognise his name so I have just looked him up.
One comment about him is that he shouldn’t be allowed to referee junior football, never mind league one.
Another aside, we have had him on a few occasions and he has always been an absolute disgrace.
Another comment says that the goals from the game were overshadowed by the performance of the referee.

It seems like we have another rubbish official to look forward to.

Joyce was the ref in our first round 2-2 draw with Chorley.
In his 37 matches this season he has issued 134 yellow cards and 4 red ones.

I thought he handled the game at Chorley quite well, apart from missing that the red card challenge on Herbie was inside the area and therefore a penalty.

Apparently he is up for promotion to SG2, the refs who mainly referee Championship games. Although I would caution that SG2 includes Andy Woolmer, Keith Stroud and Andy Davies. No guarantee of quality!

Yes he made a big error at Chorley.

Give the Penalty first - then dish out the Card which he got right as RED

By the time he had booked the Chorley Sub(s) an fought off all the protests he had forgotten the main item on the Agenda. PENALTY from wherever you look
EDIT after game
Not too bad on the whole - 3

I thought he was good. One of the best I've seen at the Keepmoat this season. I believe he is up for promotion and will probably be reffing in the Championship next season.
