Hoddle thinks that shouldn’t have been a penalty since Sterling wasn’t going to get the ball.??

Since when did that matter, the ball was in play and he was fouled.!

Isn't obstruction an indirect free kick?

Yes but Sterling was fouled by the second defender whilst being obstructed by the first..

Excellent performance by England.

I’ve spent the last few years being disappointed and disillusioned by England, but Southgate is getting my mojo back.

It’s great to be feeling positive about Rovers and England both at the same time.

Pretty ironic that despite all this mess with Brexit the value of Sterling has never been higher.

Your pessimism extends to England as well as Rovers I see.

Is there anything worse than 6-0-6? Sweet Jesus I listened the other week for first time in ages. Talk about bland and banal. Premier League ‘fans’ hundreds of miles away from ‘their’ clubs whining about VAR and FFP, all egged on by two half-witted presenters straight from BBC light entertainment central casting. Total rubbish.

It wasn’t a dodgy penalty, it was a stonewaller.!

Saw Shearer down at the Den last Sunday. TBF he had a bit of banter with some Wall and took it all in good spirit. Lineker on the other hand just stayed hidden in the studio box. Can't stand the bloke.

How's it politically correct?

Chilwell is a highly rated left back for Leicester. Sancho is one of Europe's top assisters and plays for Dortmund, only 18.

Most pleasing aspect of Southgate is that he is unwilling to be tied to the big tired names. Jesus that ‘Golden Generation’ failed to reach their potential so many times yet that just sat there flabbily strolling around pitch confident that no manager was going to shake up the squad let alone the team.

By contrast, plenty of folk from the World Cup less than a year ago are now having to sit on bench or are outside squad (Trippier, Young etc). Let’s not get blinded by youth but equally Southgate is on the money in that nobody has a sacred place. Good on yer.

And another thing...great that lots of these young lads are choosing at very early age to have a crack at playing abroad, testing themselves in new systems and set ups, eg Sancho, Lookman and that lad Hudson-Odoi looks to be going to Munich. Money on offer must be less than Premier League but advancement and improvement opportunities aplenty.

Too many players waste years of their careers just being bit part players and bench warmers.
They would do far better by going to a club where they get plenty of match time.

On Hudson Odoi, hasn’t he just been offered a long deal by Chelsea.
