Have we got the bottle to get over the line?
I don’t know how the players are feeling this morning but i have not felt ‘so on edge’ putting it politely since the morning of the Brentford match.
This is when the players need to stand up and be counted.
First whistle to last. We need leaders out there. Butler, Copps, Rowe, Blair & Marquis who are the most experienced players and know how to get promoted need to lead from the front.
Come on boys go out and show we are 6th because we deserve to be.
We as fans need to make more noise than ever before to help them over the line.
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I've been up since 6, feel exactly the same
-
Despite following a different club I'm feeling exactly the same anxieties as you guys .
A really restless nights sleep and up early this morning after I simply gave up on it .
Earlier start than usual for the pub and a few pints to take the edge off for me .
I sincerely hope we both get the results we desire today and elsewhere .
Good luck to Rovers today .

Thanks for those good wishes. As much as i would like Both clubs to get promoted, i would really like to play you in the play offs. Preferably the final.
Good luck to you anyway.

Thanks for that rover .
What we often forget in our own clubs bubble is that fans and players of Peterborough , Sunderland and Pompey are all going through the same anxieties .
It's just the same for those clubs too , they dare not drop points although by definition someone has to between Sunderland and Pompey , preferably both .
These are the games we should be embracing because it's far better than end of season dead rubber games at this stage of the season that's for sure .
At least that's what I'm trying to convince myself with right now .

Best wishes Tyke!
We have got to show more patience and do the basics much better from the off. Make it as difficult as possible for Oxford and gradually build the pressure without compromising at the back. There are no prizes for getting done with sucker punches as we've seen in recent games.
It has to be a disciplined performance keeping set pieces to a minimum. Whiteman, Kane etc just keep it simple and keep the ball ticking over and leave the fancy stuff for the final third when Wilks, Sadlier and Marquis can take a few more risks.
-
Well, tyke, I think you should stop looking over your shoulder and get your eyes on the title. Luton's wheels appear to have fallen off just as they were about to get their hands on the trophy....

And we know all about that kind of thing and who pipped us on the line, and who is coming up on the rails this time

Correct Filo and they finished that season with a similar end of season run.
-
Luton finished last season with a whimper as well. Their nerves will be jangling.

First of all well done to Rovers today and a point nearer a play off place , hard game that today for you lads and with Peterborough losing it was more like a win for you I guess .
What an emotional afternoon at Oakwell , they've put us through it this afternoon I can tell you , when we went a goal down I was absolutely devastated and feared the worst .
Thankfully this young side are full of resilience and belief and eventually got the job done .
With favourable results today it's been a cracking day and we still have a sniff of the title .
We could be promoted on tuesday night if Pompey fail to beat Peterborough but I've little doubt we will have to go to Bristol Rovers next saturday evening and earn it the hard way .
I'm all done , absolute emotional wreck and the worst is yet to come .
:headbang:

Well done tyke. The ball is firmly in your court now and I hope that you now go on and take the title.👍
-
Great result for both Yorkshire clubs today 👍⚽️😀

Your destiny is i your own hands now, good luck. Just in case you don’t finish in the top 2 and you finish 3rd i look forward to 2 titanic games against you in the play off semi’s

God forbid we should end up in the play offs and playing local rivals in the semi final .
Can we agree to leave us out of this scenario please and go with both Rovers and Barnsley promoted this season .

Hey tyke, saw a couple of Pompey fans in Newcastle tonight as I was taking my daughter back to uni. Told them you would be champs and they would come 2nd. Luton will still be in l1 next next year-bottled it! Charlton to win play offs

The last league game and three scenarios possible ....
We are crowned champions .
We finish second and promoted automatically .
We end up in the play offs .
Never had this before in the 52 years I've gone down to Oakwell .
Promotion to the PL in 97 was a walk in the park compared to this , a game to spare and a 4 point cushion .
It's going to be a long week unless Pompey can't beat Posh on tuesday night .
That's not going to happen .
-
It better not happen

A good day for us today and all of a sudden the tide has turned back in our favour.
But how nail-biting is the end to this season?
I sense the mood has changed on this forum which is understandable but it does beg the question that we should trust in this manager and this group of players.
I never thought at the start of the season that we could make the play-offs.
We have one game left to play and we’re in the driving seat to achieve exactly that.
Let’s celebrate the fact that our season is still alive to the very last game, and give huge credit to Grant McCann and his players.
Brilliant season, thanks Rovers.
-
Hells bells, if it's this nerve wracking just trying to get into the play-offs I don't think my old ticker will survive the ACTUAL play-offs !!
All good stuff though, considering we were written off by many "experts" before the season started.
-
Plenty of bottle showed out there today, just what was required against a very buoyant, confident team.
Not too sure what was in Posh’s bottle today but i hope it’s the same on Tuesday.
DF looked flabbergasted by his players display in his post match interview. Nothing unusual there then, 2016/17 anyone remember a certain team coming 3rd in a one horse race.
I am still smarting even now from that debacle.
-
Rate laugh this, innit.

I don't want to be too negative, but that Buoyant confident team had 8 changes to it.
So i'm not getting carried away just yet.
-
The changers weren't as massive as they sound most had played over 20 games this season so weren't to just 8 youth lads getting a run some were coming back from injury just Kane and Whiteman for us.
So the 8 changers maybe half were for the better from oxfords point of view.
Have no idea why Kieran won't get a start sounds like Rowe needs to be dropped for him

Probably knackered from having played a full season in Ireland as well?
-
True just need him for four more games then next season as a championship player

Didn't we find out that there were only six changes?

No , as i said in the match Thread only Nelson,Whyte and long , started in their Game against Shrewsbury.
-
They must have been worried about us then to have to strengthen that much.😉

Mmmmm, so maybe hound isn’t hard of hearing then.
