Well after today it's a massive thank you for bankrolling DRFC when only 7500 home fans could be bothered to turn up today.
-
Very poor turn out.
-
Well done though to those who did show up today

If 7500 could be bothered, how many couldn’t? That is the question !
-
7500 home fans is probably more than we usually get.
-
The family section was notably more empty than for the Cov and Palace games, that's suggesting a good number of people with kids had Sunday stuff booked. "not bothered" is a daft way of putting it.
Our support is growing, slowly.
-
Why would respectful adults want to take kids after witnessing last weeks cavemen causing fear and havoc
-
I was surprised at how many stayed away today
-

That as well.
-
Our support is going down. Southend attendance same scenario?
-

“ stayed away” or didn’t go?
-

Exactly. We went but the little one who has a season ticket didn't and another sth in our group had already planned a weekend away.
The problem with the play offs is the short notice, you can't plan for it in a week.
-
I was away today I’m afraid. Weekend away booked 3 months ago.
Managed to find a pub with it on though. Got my ticket for Friday and I genuinely still believe we can do it.
-
What today has shown is that most of the league games (and especially the final game against Coventry) is how fabricated the attendances are.
12700 against Coventry with 2100 away, meaning 10600 home fans, versus the 7500 home fans today. Not a chance, and it is embarrassing trying to claim that there was.
-
How many turned up who had not been all season?
-
It doesn’t help that the Doncaster fa refused to change the day or time, for the kids cup final tournament. There are teams packed full of rovers fans, who were torn, and gutted about the day. The Doncaster fa need to hang their heads, I’m not sure who benefited from that.
-

No it wasn’t the same.. second leg at home after 9-0 away..
-
The owners have achieved their plan to get to the playoffs and must be thanked for financially supporting that.
If we do not get promoted then next season we will need more support to improve the squad especially with best players leaving and others not signing contracts will be a big transfer window what ever league we are in.
-
£21 and on sky TV. That why people never came.
-
Plenty came, more than usual.. what’s the problem.??
-

3000 less home fans than the last league game if you believe the attendances given.
-
The Coventry game had more people turn up
-
I said more than usual.. don’t forget the regular season attendances include st holders who don’t turn up..
-
I think someone wants to have a long hard look at that ticketing website.
According to that site, there were not many more than a thousand unsold tickets at tea time last night. But we were 3000 shy of a full house.
Summat not right somewhere.

Not all the tickets are released for sale.
They didn't open the last 3 blocks in the west stand. That's 1200 there. Take away segregation, the front 3 rows of the south and north stand, definitely 1000 empty seats in east stand, and there you go.
It's the normal league games that have hugely inflated attendances given. 8000 average. Nearer to 6000 IMO.
-
TV obviously killed it for travelling fans

Gates are given as tickets sold, therefore a normal league game includes all season tickets, today's game could not and did not. Figures are not 'inflated'.

Maybe some fans who were thinking about going had their minds changed when they’d read the moaning drivel that some folk insist on posting on here? Let’s face it, this forum is hardly a great advert for the club is it?

And maybe some fans were abducted by aliens......seems as a propensity for preposterousness is about to be unleashed....

Half the town celebrating their win at Derby hungover today

Well, the only preposterousness I can see is that we’ve had a season where we’ve reached the 5th round of the cup and the play offs and yet some supporters still find stuff to grumble about...eh sha66y?

Your obsession with the number of Leeds fans in Donny is as boring as it is inaccurate
-
Our fan base has always been typical of a lower league club . We are subsidised at £2.5m every year so we are still many years away from break even . Championship football brings more money at one end but bigger loses at the other, so we need our best players to stay and build the club , Copps has earned his legend status and Marquis Whiteman should be encouraged to follow suit. Building
A Championship promotion side is still away off but it will get further away unless we can keep our best players signed up for 5 years and not 2years . Investment in a team that has loyalty in its players and that values them is what creates followers and fans .
-
SE corner looked empty on tv. As did a lot of the middle of the East stand where the posh seats are.
-

Two or three of us were talking about this today.
After a game we often look on the forum of the team we have played and all agreed that there does seem to be much more moaning on this site than on others, particularly about individual players and the team in general.
-
I think the people of doncaster would sooner spend twenty odd pounds on beer than spending it at rovers especially if it's on tv as well

Which of course is fine. I do often wonder why so many care what others choose to do or not.

My apologies not well thought through many will have been preparing to watch Liverpool not win the league. Xxx

No need to apologise to me for your nonsense - I blame the teachers

I think if the game was yesterday, alit more would have turned up

I'd blame the university I went to more. That was in Leeds.

Our support is going down. Southend attendance same scenario?
Average gates in the Wembley season 7978, average this season 8022. And fwiw, average in the last promotion season 7239.

There's no way we've average 8000 this season. It is massively inflated. 7500 home fans there today, and you could tell there were significantly more there than a run of the mill league game.
Look at the Coventry game where there were meant to be 10500 home fans.
Why do we make it up?
-
The minority of childish hooligan scum from last week have had a negative effect on today’s attendance !!!
-
In that season we went up no 4k away ends
-

Interesting you give that as a reason all the issues were in the south stand yet that was sold out today.
Not at all condoning it but that clearly wasn't the reason for the drop in attendance.
Suppose every season ticket holder had to pay as well today and no price reductions for bronze members like normal. Still overall would have expected 9k home fans at least

There wasn't a drop. Anyone with eyes could see there were more home fans than usual there today.
It is the league games where over inflated figures have been given
-
I thought it looked pretty full. They need to bin off or reduce the family section though and if the prawn sarnie lot are not interested reduce that as well.
-
I was told IN THE TICKET OFFICE ON SAT am only 1000 seats left out of 14,000 available.
= 13.000 gate.
The capacity is 15.000 less 1.000 segregation.
There were not more than 2.000 empty seats in the ground.
The figure of 11.100 is incorrect it has to be.
Figures are figures they don’t lie. Simple maths.
GATE OVER 13.000 today.
-
What does it matter?
-
I asked my lad if he wanted to go. He didn't after being scared last week.
I have suffered from daily headaches since November so it takes a bit of an effort.
-
There were loads of teams of kids playing matches in Elmfield park while the match was on. I'm guessing these were all pre arranged.

Sorry but you're wrong.
14000 available seats.
Last 3 blocks of west stand weren't open. Easily 1000 in there.
South Stand has a 10 percent reduced capacity as it is unreserved seating. 330 seats minimum.
Away end had netting over front 3 rows of north stand and front 4 or 5 back rows of east stand. 500 there
Plenty of empty seats in the family stand and corporate areas. Easily 500
Loads of empty seats in West stand, front rows especially. Easily another 500.
Plus the rest of the segregation etc.
11100 is correct.
-
Does it really matter? We all know that some posters on here will go out of their way to grumble about attendances however many we get! This forums obsession with attendances is bizarre!
-
Well I thought it went well yesterday, the ground looked well, the atmosphere was good, and the crowd was well behaved, just how it should be, and everyone there were there because they wanted to be.
What more do people want, for someone to be frog marched to watch something they don't want to.
The best team in the land ( Manchester City) struggle to get people to watch them play European football, while the seventh best team( and falling quickly Manchester United) can fill a ground at the drop of a hat.
People will only come to watch us if they want to, start to live with it, we have to get over 40 years of poor teams and management, and looking at the youngsters at the game yesterday it is slowly starting to happen.
