Seen as our board from my memory wants to get us back there to stay, I expect they will have planned how to do so financially..

Don’t have to throw money around to be successful.
Good manager and a fantastic team spirit is enough to hold you own in that league.
Yes we will need to bring in 4/5 players of Championship experience. It will cost but it won’t cost mega bucks with the right recruitment.
Let’s get to Wembley first and if we do it will be the best Birthday present I could possibly wish for.

Some clubs can't afford to be there, but also can't afford not to be. The wages bang average Championship players are drawing ( I won't say earning ) are outrageous. The bubble will have to burst at some point. The days of local businessmen bankrolling a second division team are long gone. If you haven't got a billionaire with plenty to spare you will be in a constant relegation battle.

For all the financial mismanagement, there's also examples of good management both financially and structurally.  Throwing good money after bad is never a good recipe and we see many times clubs pressing the panic button with a series of poor managerial appointments.

As mentioned before, I believe we are financially fitter than ever before but that doesn't mean we will be held to ransome and pay above the odds for average players as said above.

Sustaining Championship football will be a massive challenge but not impossible as long as we're also prepared to take our medicine and regroup from time to time.

Also can the fans? I know 2 clubs that charge over 40 quid and majority over 30 quid for an away ticket

Expensive for sure - and there will be some prepared to pay to go away and those who cant / wont pay

I could do a full Season away no trouble but would still be happy if I only got to see Home Games with my Season Ticket at a reasonable price

I wonlast years one so was a bit of a shock havng to pay this time round

We just don't have the fan base to start hiking up the prices as they know we'll lose more than we'll gain if we price people out. JR tried that and went too far.

Best business plan sell out south stand almost to season ticket holders. Then make match day prices for cat A games 30 quid if got to Championship

Categorising games didn't go down well either! The policy of trying to convert more fans to members.. at least Bronze members, is the right path. More chance of Bronze members upgrading etc.as long as the pricing remains attractive.

Last time I looked there wasn't an entrance fee you have to pay to enter the Championship and they actually pay you millions once you're in, so of course we can afford to go up.

Whether we can afford to be compteitive is another matter entirely.

Last season Brum £10
Hull £18
Wigan £20
Forest £20
Rovrum £23
Norwich £25
Stoke £25
Derby £26
Sheff United £29
Boro £30
Pigs £30
Villa £30
L**ds £39
I spent less money going to watch Leeds at the Den than Bellend Road!

A varied spectrum from cheap to outrageous.

No disrespect intended but I think you would go straight back down and we might not be far behind.

So your opening post is about the future of the club but somehow your last post is historical? Weird.

For me, the best thing is to keep it real, keep it sustainable, don't get sucked into the hype about promotion and a Prem Disney Dreamland. We are what we are, we can build, we can seize our chances as they come but forcing it would be foolish.

Yes we can afford to be there.

Thing is no disrespect Millwall won't have been a category A game for many teams

The key here is to go up, enjoy the ride, and not risk the family silver by trying to stay up at all costs. If we're not ready, we accept it and come back down.  The trick is that the fans expectations need to be aligned. When the weight of expectation grows, so does the noise.  So when people on here respect the owners, manager and team spirit, we also need to contribute with fan spirit and our togetherness with the bigger project of long term sustainability, not boom and bust.
