Did all those booked on the last train out of Kings Cross make it on time to catch it ?

Got delayed and didn’t leave till after midnight so I think so.
Arrived in Donny over half an hour late as well so everyone will be entitled to a refund (or part refund) on their tickets.
Cut them some slack, applying for a refund when beforehand they delayed the train so rovers fans could make it tight get.

It's the least they can do when we've got LNER plastered all over the front of our shirts :scarf: :scarf:
-
They did the right thing - they didn’t have to but the tie in with the club must have helped the decision.
Well done LNER
-
99pc of tickets sold would have been to our lot so they had little option!
-
Anyone who complains and goes for a refund here needs to give their head a wobble. Big thumbs up for delaying it. Apparently it was late due to a slower train ahead

Why?
I agree it was the correct thing to delay it - shame that they were unable to announce the message in the ground as that would have saved a bit of panic/rushing about for those on the train, but when there's a few quid to be had and perfect eligibility to apply for a refund, it'd be rude not to.
Rules are rules.
Christ, I bet you're fun at parties.
-
Some people went back to Donny on coaches as they didn’t know that the train had been delayed.

I suspect that post is totally tongue in cheek, Rigo but if you're being serious then all it does is speak volumes about your values. Have to say thought that it fits with your view that 'anything goes' to gain advantage in a game of football.

Biting the hand that feeds you,Go ahead, next time they're in a situation to help Rovers fans by bending/turning a blind eye to a rule, they may say sorry Rules are rules! :headbang:

Was a great gesture by LNER. They didn’t have to do it so fair play for doing that. If you claim a refund on the back of this then you really are an idiot
-
I dont doubt there will be some claiming a refund despite NOT paying in the first place !
Drover has it absolutely spot on. Should it ever happen again (millions to one I agree) "they" will say - we got slammed last time round for a load of money when we actually delayed the Trains departure rather than leaving the Fans to fend for themselves in London overnight AND charging them more next morning because they did not catch the Train they had "agreed" to travel on

Thankfully you wouldn’t be able to claim a refund if you hadn’t paid for a ticket in the first place as you need to be able to present that ticket to qualify.
Having relied on LNER (and it’s predecessors) to commute for 10 years it’s fair to say I’ve experienced it all when it comes to frustration with the reliability of the service. But hats off to them for the decision to hold back that train - a classy move and I think it would be really poor form for anyone using that service to get back from the game to take advantage of it.

I hope you've Tweeted them some praise Jonathan , then again they'll think you've gone soft. :)

Great gesture by LNER and I would like to think they would of done it regardless whether they was our sponsor or not,in the end we made it back for the original time anyway even with clapping the boys at the end.i for one won’t be asking for any refund and I’m a tight Yorkshireman

For anyone on that service - was it basically a Football Special or were there ‘normal’ folk aboard?

Are n’t people who travel by rail to a football match “normal” folk?
-
Nope.
Class them as ‘super’ folk.

no not a football special
-
It was a regular scheduled service.
-
Sorry, I have not made myself clear here.
I know that the 233hrs from Kings Cross is the last train to Doncaster on a Friday. My point was whether the service last Friday had many passengers who were not Rovers fans. It must be a sparsely populated service normally.

I would estimate 70/80% of the train had been to the match including one Charlton fan sat near us who was still on when we all got off at Donny. Train itself was also about 75% full I reckon.
