Good move for him & I hope he does well there - I’ve tweeted him to congratulate him on securing his move and asked him politely not to have a blinder when we meet next season
-
Where’s this come from
-
Where’s this come from
Don't believe the rumours mate
-
He has joined a team that has one of the best managers in the lower divisions, and a team that is fancied to do well next season.
Their manager has a record of having an eye for spotting and bringing on good young players, and I hope he does well there, he has given his best while here, has been no trouble at all,has been willing to join in and participate in projecting the club to the fans, and has been a credit to himself while here.
He is a very young age to have the experience of first team football he has got, and is a good signing for Coventry.

Coventry announced this morning.

Like you Marosi leaves with my best wishes, but I don’t think he is a very young age to have the experience of first team football that he has - he’s 25 (26 in October) and has only 68 first team games under his belt. It’s a return that reflects his frequent spells on the bench.
-
I wonder if the deal was negotiated before we played Coventry in the last game, not that it matters like, we won the game
-
Brilliant move for him, I’d say a step forward in his career.
-
He seems happy he's gone to a massive club. :coat:
-
I’m pleased for him
-
Good move for him, we both on.
-
Might have requested to be number one.
-
Coventry City could be expelled from the league this time next week.
-
Nick, he has been part of a promotion side, and a playoff team, played his part in a cup run and is still a very young age for a goalkeeper, who are recognised in the game not to reach their best until later, probably 29yrs old.
Only this season our own fans have posted that we as a team would benefit from a more experienced keeper.
He is a good signing for Coventry, fortunately we are well covered in the position with two good young goalkeepers and also have the loan system that we can tap into if we need to in an emergency.
-
Good on him. He's been a good servant and didn't always get a fair crack. When he did, he showed how he'd improved and for me he edges it over Lawlor.
I still think we can improve on them both so let's see what happens!
-
All the best to him. Worked his knackers off while he was here & always tried his best.
Can ask for no more.
-
You can almost guarantee that he will have 2 brilliant games next season against us.
-
Pile the crosses in , we will score plenty after he drops the ball or doesn’t come or wait does at the wrong time 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻🤣👍🏻🤣
-
Deal gone through very quickly as he was only released yesterday must have been talking to Coventry for a week or two should he have played in the play off games.
-
First interview with Coventry...

I get the impression he wants to KICK ON.......

Isn't he entitled to speak with who he wants when he is in the last six months of his contract? If so, then you could make a case that any player in the last six months of his contract shouldn't be playing in a big game.
Fair play to him,it seems a good move on paper and a three year contract is quite a lengthy deal for him too.

No, he’s not entitled to do that. He (contractually) isn’t allowed to speak to any other club in this country until his contract has finished. Although goes without saying anything hat agents will be having words unofficially with other clubs.
-
His contract probably has n’t ended here yet, so not sure why he’s doing interviews with other clubs while he’s still getting paid from us

Does that really bother you?
He's left. Let's all move swiftly on.

Where’s this come from
Delighted to have signed for this massive club @Coventry_City looking forward to this new chapter in my career cant wait to meet the lads and get started! Thank you @KikoRod9 @DRNSPORT for sorting everything out ⚽️
-
Would you sign for a club or start a new job without having met your manager? Weird.
-
I thought contracts started and ended on June 1st?

I don't think that's true. Players sign pre-contract agreements every year, there are always players confirming transfers this soon after the end of the season, Marosi is hardly the only player switching clubs if you look around the leagues. This move will have been in the works for a little bit of time now just like the players McCann mentioned he is working on bringing in to DRFC.
-
The club may well have agreed to terminate the contract by mutual agreement yesterday.
None of us know so no point in making an issue out of this.
Good luck to Marko in the future.

That's exactly what i was thinking.
In fairness even if he had already agreed to going Coventry, the club probably weren't aware and I'm sure he will have still given 100%, it's not like it had any direct impact on Coventry next season.
-
The move seems to have suited all parties, except they forgot to check the fan's forum....

You know what, I think we are both right/wrong (but I’m closer 😜).
I think that with transfers on expiry of contract between English clubs, clubs are entitled to talk to players a month before expiry. So Marosi’s contract probably expires in the middle of June.
-
Think all contacts run till 31st of December or 30th of june
-
"He is a goalkeeper with a strong presence in the box, a good shot-stopper and can also distribute the ball well," said City boss Mark Robins.
"That is vital for the way that we want to play. Marko will be an important part of our squad as we look to push on next season."
Not sure Robins has watched him much.....

Well at one time I thought he had a good presence in the box, but he’s gradually gravitated towards his line and never returned, lots of errors have come into his game, no blame for the one at The Valley, he slipped, but the one at the KM was totally his fault. For me he’s not the same keeper he was a year ago when I was advocating that he was better than Lawlor. It appears from his interview that Marko has not met Mark Robins yet, it also appears that Mark Robins has not seen much of Marko lately
-
Confirmed in DFP, were bringing in a new keeper.
-
If Coventry are "massive", they wouldn't be signing Marosi.
-
Apparently the Coventry reporter misheard Robins.
What he actually said was "He is a goalkeeper who leaves a string of presents in the box."
I've liked Marosi and a year or two back I thought we had a good in in the making. But he's probably the least commanding of his box of any keeper we've ever had at this level. And he's gone backwards on that score this season. We can and should do better.
Good luck to the lad and I won't be upset if he proves me wrong, but I'm shedding no tears on this one.
-
Yeah agree with you - Good luck Marko (except against us)
Been a very devisive debate IL V MM and is now resolved or should be but I wonder if IL makes a howler or two in future the pro MM people will be saying " never should have let him go"
Hopefully IL will be that good it will kill that off for good
-
Coventry have today signed Ben Wilson on a 3 year deal. Hope for Markos sake he will be number choice.
-
Well, looking at Wilson's career history I'd say at this stage they have signed Marosi to be the #1. Obviously he'll have to navigate pre-season successfully like he would at any other club to cement that though.
-
He's gone now. Time to move on and think about who might be next between the sticks.
Artur Boruc, Speroni?
-
Did Marko have a good game against Cov? It screams of one of those signings.
-
Not sure why he’s getting stick, this time last year we had a poll and he comfortably beat lawlor to who we wanted to be our number one.
He’s kept us in plenty of games this year,
-
Will they even be in business???
-
...he’s 25 (26 in October) and has only 68 first team games under his belt. It’s a return that reflects his frequent spells on the bench.
78 League games and 95 1st team games in total.
With the right coaching I think he can be a great League 1, maybe even lower Championship keeper. Now's the time for him to make that step up in quality, and just maybe he wasn't getting all he needed here in coaching? No criticism of our keeper coach, it can be that Marosi can't progress enough with him?

You’re right, it had been 68 league games which must have been updated recently. I wasn’t suggesting anything about his future, I was disputing him being an experienced keeper for his age. Lawlor for example has made as many league appearances despite being a year younger, and Gary Woods had made more or less the same when he left us at the age of 22, and I don’t think you’d call either of them experienced.
I’d be interested to see where Marosi ends up - I personally think he’ll end up a number 1 at a League Two club. I just don’t think he’s progressed at all this season - if anything he’s gone backwards, but perhaps a change of scenery might be just what he needs.
