Of my mum who has just gone through 8 weeks of intensive radiotherapy at Weston park hospital. She attended the charlton game believing it might be her last ever rovers game but, after ringing the bell for the end of her treatment today, she is now planning to be at the pre-season games and, as I’ve already bought her ST, the majority of next seasons games as well - home and away!
An amazing lady with more guts and determination than anyone I’ve ever known just being there, wherever we finish, will be something we could only dream about when she got her diagnosis. This has put everything football related into context for our family but she will be the first one to cheer and maintain her positivity at every game. I hope, for her, that we can push on and get promotion next season but do you know what? If we don’t she’ll just be happy to be there to support her beloved rovers!
Just remember, every game could be our last one, so let’s treat every one as if it is and support the team we love! I’m sure we are all RTID! My mum most definitely is!

Big big congrats your mums a very brave lady.
My mother is going through the same, chemo at DRI and radiotherapy at Weston park, infact i was there yesterday so may have clapped your mum when the bell rang. We ring the bell next friday.
The staff at both hospitals are truly amazing, they take all the worry away completley and make it a much better experience.

Can't tell you how that has cheered me up. Wonderful news. Lost my Mum almost 12 months ago aged 93 and despite failing heart and kidneys she never complained about her lot, she was determined to go and watch her beloved Rovers. Just 5 days before she died she was still talking positively about being around for the start of the new season. Rovers kept her going for years and meant so much to her.....much more than just a footie club. It was HER club! Hope your Mum has many more seasons following her club. Times like this put everything into perspective but make you realise what a bond there can be between supporters and club.

Thank you everyone, I never expected so many responses but it’s great to know we are all rovers and that such a great lady can bring some hope and sunshine into peoples’ lives as she has ours. It’s people like you that make being a lifelong rovers fan so great! Thank you all.
