Many rovers fans are upset , understandable , things are getting typed with emotion and disappointment , understandable it's the club they love and they care deeply about it .
A very good first season under GM with the potential to go one better next season and now that seems nothing but a distant memory at this moment in time .
However is that really the case ? .
Consider this , GM's started to move Rovers in the right direction but with all due respect you will still run out in league one next season , in footballing terms he's won nothing .
He's replaceable , Doncaster Rovers isn't reliant on one man after all , he's a big cog but he's a cog none the less .
No reason that I can think of that says Rovers can't go out and do even better and hire a guy who next season finishes the job GM started .
For what it's worth I think GM's made a huge error going to Hull and one he will regret .
They'll be no mucking around there , he'd better deliver the results or he won't see xmas over in East Yorkshire .

He did a great job until the last few weeks. He's dismantled the team and then f***ed off leaving us in the lurch with no new manager likely to be in place for several weeks.
-
Yeah ...ya right, but we have a “ Donny meltdown” EVERY year, but due to some low attention spans, it always seems like the first time....
I hope GM enjoys his well earned promotion....however sometimes managing bigger ego’s can be a trial in itself.....and I hope he doesn’t lose the changing room too quickly

Well said tyke! That analysis mirrors my view on this disappointing affair. McCann brought back some real good quality attacking football to Donny an I for 1 thoroughly enjoyed our season. I’m disappointed in the manner of which he has left and he should think before making statements. He has made himself look rather two faced imo. However we move on as a club and I will be watching again this next season and hoping that our sensible owners find a suitable replacement and we go again!! Here’s hoping 🤞. Our fans are understandably upset and worried but I have to echo Mcann’s words here and say that if you aren’t here for the club then quite frankly you can take your coat and clear off!!! Don’t do forget to turn off the light 💡😀⚽️👍

For the first time in my life I’m in agreement with a Barnsley fan !!! We move on ,end of

It's the unfortunate nature of being a Rovers fan. We rarely have stability and an optimistic summer break looking forward to the next season.
If it's not Sequentia Capital supposedly taking over, it's Ryan trying to partner up with Louis Tomlinson to take over or Ferguson suddenly resigning last year, and now it's McCann resigning this year.
Don't the fans have a right to be fed up just when things were looking good?

it’s the timing , there is business that concerned having a manager in place ie loans or targets . If the wheels stay on then we keep our targets and hope they produce for the new man. If things go unfinished then it’s an up hill task not only to keep players from leaving or getting quality replacements in . The reality also that the new man has to get to know the players and get used to a very limited budget perhaps already spent . It’s going to be a LONG season.

Great post Tyke.
Problem some people wouldn’t be happy if we won the Champions league and the Premier league title in the same season.
We have some so called supporters who live in fantasy land, and they just can’t see the big picture. Some just come on here to have a moan for moaning sake. They have obviously made it their life’s work to be professional moaners. Sad really isn’t it.
Thank heavens there are just as many people on here that will love that post Tyke, the ones that can see the big picture and are genuine DRFC supporters.

Spot on and like I said elsewhere if he'd stayed and Jack Ross gets the flick from Sunderland (many Black Cat fans feel they should of been promoted given the squad and resources at his disposal) I think him and Cliff Byrne would of been high up on the list of candidates to replace him. I can see him being out of work well before Christmas now.

Great post Tyke, got to say you've changed my opinion of Barnsley fans these last few months, for the better!

Have a day off you f**king pleb.
Just because some of us have a different opinion doesn't mean we aren't genuine supporters.
Mccann has left us in the gutter. We've a right to be pissed off.

We've lost more talent on the field and in the technical area to bigger clubs than you can shake a stick at .
Once you work out that players and managers have no loyalty what so ever to any club and it's just a job , James Coppinger accepted then these things are far easier to accept .
Hull City are a bigger club than Doncaster Rovers and can pay him more money , that's an uncomfortable fact but it's a fact .
Piece of advice for you from someone whose learned the hard way , don't invest too much emotionally with the players and coaches of today , they don't have the emotional ties you do .
-
I know you possibly mean well but I really don’t need counselling from a Barnsley fan at this moment.

Sad but true and every year seems to ram it further down the real fans' throats. Honesty and integrity are fora bygone age.

There was a star midfield player at Oakwell by the name of Connor Hourihane not too long ago , bear with me on this .
So we are 7th in the championship and a point outside of the play offs in January 2017 and Connor has 6 months left on his deal .
The owner Patrick Cryne was diagnosed with terminal cancer and offered Connor 18k a week to sign a one year deal from his hospital bed , out of his own pocket .
He refused the offer and wanted a move there and then , he signed for Aston Villa the next day for 30k a week .
That's the modern world of football we live in
