If a manager is available you have to think why are they ?
1. End of contract
2. An assistant wanting to be in charge
3. They have been sacked from another club
If we approach someone who is employed as a manager elsewhere NO ONE can carry on complaining about Grant McCann

so you agree will DONNYBOB then

This has been covered so many times, but I don’t have any gripe with Hull, or even McCann moving to a Championship club. It’s the circumstances surrounding the move (pulling apart the squad, leaving as transfers are ongoing, leaving after preaching about loyalty and building a squad etc). If we approached a club and said we were interested in talking to their manager then I’d have no issue with that.
Also isn’t your second point the same thing? They’re still employed somewhere, just presumably the compensation required would be smaller.

did Hull operate within the rules shortlist and interviews the rooney rule. did McCann apply before the approach to DRFC

After initially being taken aback by the suddenness of it all and GM's decision I'm feeling quite positive again.
The fact is that, at the minute, our club is a lower league manager's dream; we have established owners that offer a stable platform and - at the right time - financial support in a way that you just don't get at many other lower league clubs. We still have a group of good players and we are clearly well regarded by higher league clubs looking to develop their up and coming pros.
Any (youngish) aspiring talent looking to build their managerial CV should take us seriously.
I think we're in a good position to recruit well. Looking forward to seeing who puts their hat in the ring.

The thing is we're not going to approach anyone already employed elsewhere. We're accepting applications from interested parties. Different scenario.

There won’t be many managers who haven’t been sacked at one time or another.
Even Alex Ferguson suffered that.
