Anybody go this gym? Looks bang on for £9.99 a month on a 12 month contract.

Would anybody recommend ?

I went here quite a bit when I lived local to it. It is what it is. Cheap and cheerful

It's alright. Cheap and quiet on an evening which is all I want. The machines end up breaking a lot though and don't always get fixed for quite a while, and my Mrs informs me that the classes are a waste of money but other than that it seems good value for the money.

It’s bloody awful. At one stage last year none of the water fountains worked for months.

I’m happier paying more for the variety of Choose Fitness DCLT gyms

Absolutely soul less - depends what you want really, plenty of cardio stuff well maintained but wasn’t for me

I’m a member there and find it OK.

There is lots of cardio equipment but the weights area could do with being a bit bigger.

As said above, things do seam to take quite a while to fix when they break but for a budget gym it serves me quite well and at 9.99 a month, I don’t get too bothered if I miss a week or two due to holidays etc.

It's what you'd expect for £9.99 per month. Used to be rammed at peak times and you couldn't get on anything, plus you'd get badgered when you walked through the door to try and sign up everyone you knew on the spot - may have changed now with GDPR though.

If you're looking at commercial gyms The Gym in Frenchgate is better but slightly more expensive, but does still get pretty busy at peak times.

When I was a young bloke I used the old gym above the Drum in Bentley. Pete McMahon had it for years, then Brian Taylor's widow Edna had it.

Now there's no Drum at all, just a McColl's supermarket. Sign of the times.

Think you’re on about Bodies Bahrain
It was a cracking place, when Bert had it you had to do battle with a pair of slobbering Neapolitan Mastiffs
Think all the Dons were training in there when they had the season in the Big League (all pumped full of equine chemicals)

Nice lad. Played football with him for a while for either the Black bull or The Castle. I forget which.

Yep Bodies that's the one. Good straightforward gym.

Bodies has moved but is still a good gym.

Marathon was my gym of choice before it closed... I paid £120 in 2000 for LIFE membership lol
