I was wondering what the odds were on a Dingle loanee turning up this seasonhaving passed immigration. The relationship to our "little brother" surely has never been better :scarf:
so can anyone supply any names -- not played for both but signed for Rovers directly?.
By the way I expect our "little brother" to finish in the top 8

Ricky Ravenhill
it says trainee at Barnsley signed on a free for Rovers i was looking for money changing hands if possible.
Tony Leighton seemed a possibility but the Dingles were nicking Rovers players as early as 1962 :crying:
-
One of the most legendary Rovers players of all time fits the bill.
-
Alan ‘Animal’ Little surely one of the best signings we ever made from Barnsley - he was as hard as nails & used to terrify opponents much the same way Billy Whitehurst did - getting sent off at a drop ball versus Huddersfield Town was a big highlight
-
Mark hume came from barnsley if i remember right.
-
Martin Ferguson, brother of Sir Alex, signed for us from Barnsley ca 1966
-
Probably one of our greatest ever keepers, Andy Rhodes came from Oakwell in 1985. Also Dave Mulligan in 2003, and Dave Cotterill in 2012 -- and my Dad's favorite player, Eddie McMorran who Doherty signed from Barnsley in 1952.

Was going to add Iain Hume but think we got him from somewhere else
-
Glyn Riley came in on loan season 79/80 as did Colin Walker around about 1983.
-
Winston Campbell on loan in 1983

Loved watching him in a Rovers shirt. Like you say, hard as nails but I remember him taking one of the weakest penalties I have seen against Fulham. Everyone expected him to smash it in the net.

The dropped ball was in front of the dugouts at Belle Vue , the ball had barely left the referees hand when the Huddersfield player was scythed to the ground.

Love Alan Little. Him and Snodin were a formidable midfield pair!!

Amputated at the knee’s would be an accurate description, Animal was sent off and the other player left the field on a stretcher

Micky Kennedy I think was the Huddersfield player

I can see him now in my minds eye , the great Alan Little playing for us in the old fourth division , crunching tackles and scoring some thunderbolts .
I wonder how he'd go on today with the game as it is , last about five minutes I reckon .
They don't make them like Alan Little these days that's for sure .

Didn’t we get the worst Brazilian footballer of all time, Denis Souza, from Barnsley?? That went well! 🤪
-
The only Brazilian who couldn’t play football lol
Animal kicked anything above grass height a proper mester

Possibly one of the worst players we've ever had in my opinion. He was absolutely dreadful.
Think it was Sheff United away where he had a absolute mare and then went and got sent off.

Would slot him in alongside Tomi Ameobi and that loan lad from Fulham, Timlin.
