For anyone who receives the free books for which I have since my daughter was born last year DMBC are stopping the scheme by notification by email albeit a bit unprofessional basically a blank template with empty names and addresses.

I've signed the petition.

Didn't even know this existed so not really well done wonder what else I'm missing out on

Books for young children can be picked up from charity shops for as little as ten pence.

Its disappointing that the service is stopping because as with most things it will hit the disadvantaged children's the hardest.
Charlotte loves getting a new book through the post every month (she is obsessed with books) but ultimately we also keep her selection well stocked and dont have to rely on free books. I know there are plenty of families in the area that wont have the same approach though. Apparently Doncaster has always had one if the biggest take ups of the scheme.
Most of the people I have seen complaining about the scheme across my social media are people who can afford to buy a book a month though....
