Laurie Sheffield sold to Norwich for a pittance :suicide:

That sale certainly makes JM going to Portsmouth pale into insignificance.
That was one kick in the nuts that no fan of a certain age will ever forgive or forget.
The end of 1965/66 was the time to kick on if ever there was one. People now moaning about the board and lack of ambition should have been there at that time.

Albert Jenkins starts plant works football team.

oh dear man u won't touch him now sodding hell

In all fairness to the OP, this hasn't been confirmed yet has it? Not officially as being a done deal, which the wording of the Mail article suggests.

That could bugger the club up for the next fifty years.

Bloody hell, Tony Coleman's only gone and punched the ref now.......We'll never get fair treatment from them again!
-
.......Actually, there could be some truth in that!
-
To be fair the club hasn't announced Marquis to Portsmouth but he's gone.

Ah, that match against Notts County, when Tony laid one on the ref., a certain Mr Pickles. And somewhere in my loft is the match programme, which I am sure lists one of the assistant referees as Mr Onions.....I kid you not! 😀
-
There was strong evidence that Jack Pickles disliked Rovers. In the Doncaster Evening Post prior to the Notts County game that evening it was reported that there had been controversy in previous games where he'd officiated Rovers, and Rovers had never won a game in his command.
I've never entirely trusted referees neutrality since.

Have we got the other lad from Wolves too? Ennis?
-
What!!! Jessica Ennis - deffo getting to matches now

You’re not wrong. My old man is still furious about LS being allowed to go
