Clarke was always one of the sanest Tories. After all the mad right wing economic experiments of the 80s led us to the shambles of Black Wednesday, he became Chancellor and implemented textbook economic policy of reflation to get us going again. He set the scene for 15 years of decent, steady economic growth.

But under the f**king maniac Cummings, he's hoyed out the party.

Out of politics now but Portillo comes over as a decent bloke too..

People can still be decent people even if we disagree fundamentally on some issues..
