Title: Absolute scum
Post by: Axholme Lion on September 07, 2019, 08:49:12 am
A bloke who works with my Mrs got into work yesterday and was absolutely bubbling with rage. He was driving along the road and he along with other drivers stopped to allow some ducks to cross the road, all except for one low life piece of filth in a VW 4X4 who couldn't wait and overtook everyone at speed ploughing through the ducks and killed them all. I hope he has a slow painful death. Why would anyone want to do something like this?

Same happened in Thorne last year. 7 Swans moving between ponds and everone stopped apart from billy boy racer who came from 10th car back and splattered all of them

No patience

Saw three cars today outside Ground. They were held up because the front car was turning into the Car Park. Ther wer no more than 20 cars in the queue but 3 of them COULDNT wait for about a minute and turned round !!!

It probably took them longer to turn round go back to Roundabout and to find a different route - I mean come on it was hardly LA was it ?

I was coming home through Sewerby a few years ago after dark and stopped to allow four ducks to cross the road in front of me.
A car was approaching from the opposite way.
I flashed my lights at him five or six times hoping he would stop but he didn’t and kept on coming at speed and killed them all.

What is wrong with these people? This is how murderers start.

Maybe these people didn’t realise what was happening and didn’t see them!

It's amazing how many cars get cut up on a big roundabout a mile or so from where I live. They come tearing down the outside lane knowing they need to move across one or two lanes. If you don't know where you are going or unsure about something sensible drivers slow down, not speed up.
It's amazing as well when you use a junction or roundabout at a similar time daily how often it's the same drivers doing it.

I was always taught to drive defensively and expect the unexpected. In thirty five years of driving I have had one minor nudge. How much time does all this racing around really save you and is it worth all the stress and potential danger to yourself and others.

You would definitely be in the minority in Bradford AL. Just got back in and as usual a car at the bottom of the road came straight through a red light on the crossing. Luckily the woman hadn't set off. Bradford must be the only place where red lights are advisory not compulsory.
No wonder my insurance is so high with a BD postcode.☹️

I know what you mean. I used to live in Undercliffe with the dreaded BD2 postcode! Not the best place for driving through nowadays.

Not to mention fuel wasted driving like a Kitson.

Whereabouts in Undercliffe AL?
That's where I live now on Kelvin Way.
Small world.

M18 Junction 3 is bad.

The number of drivers (including HGVs) who decide to speed past the queue of traffic in the filter lane, and then just pull in at the last minute slamming their brakes on.
There's 2 miles of opportunity to get in the right lane.

Try St George’s roundabout, it’s got to the point now I expect to be cut up, especially going from Trafford Way to Wheatley Hall Road

Killinghall Drive. My Mrs was born and bred on Hatfield Road. Small world indeed. :)

I agree Filo, must be the worst roundabout in Doncaster, even more so if you want to turn right onto Market Road as soon as you are on Wheatley Hall Road.

Thats all about getting in the Correct lane on the approach to the roundabout, too many get in the wrong lane as if they were going straight on on Wheatley Hall Road, only to then switch lanes halfway round the roundabout and ignoring everyone that are already in the lane, often alongside them

Turning right from Wheatley hall Road onto St George's bridge is a lottery whether you get hit or not by vehicles straying across into your lane.

St George's Roundabout, despite lanes being well marked and all approaches being well signed for driver information, seems to be beyond the comprehension of many drivers.

Lets face it, the roads are full of buffoons.

This, it's the people not the roads.

Though if you want to see some terrible driving the stretch from Scunthorpe hospital to Tesco is superb.  Terribly designed roads and typically Scunthorpe drivers have no idea how to drive.   The usual is the roundabout for the M181, you go straight on in the left lane, yet drivers here seem to think turning left in the right lane is correct - god knows why, well actually it's the 30 sec queue they can't possibly sit in.

My Mrs works in Scunny and she is always going on about the standard of their driving.

I go round St Georges roundabout daily on the road bike. It's not for the faint hearted but not been nobbled, yet!

Its not the regular users of St Georges roundabout that are at fault, as over the years they are familiar with the pitfalls,i would imagine its those drivers from afar that  hit the panic button at the last moment to the detriment of others.

Chain Bar at the bottom of the M606 is another good one.
