I visited the Museum of Policing in Cheshire, in Warrington, with a group of friends yesterday.
Among the exhibits is the door of a Victorian prison cell. The guide taking us round pulled down the flap in the door to reveal the prisoner inside....

So, what were you in for?

How long have you got?

I must admit, I burst out laughing when the guy opened the flap - he said that he enjoyed this bit when showing school children round, got them to step up close to see the prisoner inside - and then watch their faces when he opened it. He wasn't expecting any reaction from a group of old guys, so I had to explain that it's used as an Avatar by a member on our football forum. That made everyone there chuckle too.

The thing is, BST's ugly mush is only his Avatar. Mine's for real. The result of too many years on this planet.

You know what gets me - why did they keep evidence years ago knowing that in the future dna analysis would be possible, did someone have a time machine.
Sorry went off on a tangent there
What did you think of actual museum

An excellent museum roversdude. It's a guided tour and the guides are both enthusiastic and very informative. Well worth a visit if you have an interest in policing and police history. It takes about 2 hours to do it full justice as there's plenty to see - some of the 'weapons' they have on display, (taken from criminals), are frightening in the extreme; also much information about the Warrington bombings. The museum covers a lot of Cheshire's policing history, not just Warrington's.
Has to be booked in advance and it's not possible to turn up on spec as it's part of an active police station.
