Title: Postal votes
Post by: albie on November 02, 2019, 01:01:19 am
If you need to vote by post in the GE, here is the application form;
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/711954/Apply-to-vote-by-post-England-Scotland-and-Wales__1_.pdf

Please pass it on to anybody you know who might need it.

I know this could be in the GE thread, but it would get buried, and it is really important folk have the chance to make their vote count.

Yes it IS very inportant news I have to agree

When people were panicking about missing their vote  because it might be wet windy cold - and that may stop them I thought well it hasnt stopped me

I have been postal voting for as long as I can remember - and from my end it seems very efficient and is certainly better than going out to a school or similar between 2 set times on a set day. Instead put Vote in Post Box any time up to the deadline. I think I get a week or 10 days

So even if there are massive snow drifts I am sure I wont miss my "vote" so as Albie says get the news out there and you will solve the potential weather problem and the where are you at the time of the Election problem as simple as that

Yep, I have been postal voting for years too.
So much easier and convenient.

You have to register to postal vote and they send you a voting form through the post.

Once you register for postal vote, you are removed from the polling station list so you can’t vote in a polling station.

If you miss the postal vote deadline (as my wife did once) you can drop your postal vote form into the polling station to be counted

Apparently postal voting is very popular in Tower Hamlets. :whistle:
