There used to be a big slogan painted on a wall in Balby , I know he got out and started giving talks/lectures to students (I googled him ) but that was dated 2003 and I can’t find anything else. Is he still about, alive, free, locked up ? It was ready the thread on season 1990/91 got me thinking about the past etc

There used to be graffiti on a railway bridge between Meccy and Bolton that said "PC Bint f**ks Kids".
Strange the stuff you remember.

There was graffiti about 25 years ago, pretty sure also in Balby, that said “Vinnie Cook is a grass”. Perhaps they were related and Vinnie grassed on Frank?

A bit more research,I found out he had wrote a book about his time in prison, it was published in 1998 , but unfortunately one of the people who given a review said that he had passed away on 02/04/15 . I’m going to try and find a copy of his book

He weren't that innocent he did two stretches for firing sawed off 4/10 single barrel shotguns at rival low life Villains.(His aim was bad because he never managed to hit out except wooden Doors, one at the Spread Eagle) (now tut n Shive) the other at the Coach and Horses.
The spread from a 4/10 sawed off the 15 inch barrel length using a Pheasant Plucker Cartridges would be about 6 feet wide at 20 feet range.

I was involved with him for a short time in about 2009 I think, as he had a health related problem I was helping him with.
I'd never heard of him prior to meeting him but I recall him telling me about his book
He seemed a decent enough bloke, very friendly in fact.
Sorry to hear he's passed on.

He blew the front window out in The Leopard.
"His English equivalent, Frank Cook, most famous graduate of the Hull Prison Special Unit - a direct imitation of its famous Scottish precursor with more or less the same aims and methods - now seems well on the way to becoming an English Boyle, although perhaps without the polish, the fortune, or the social cachet''

"My wasted life as a gangland enforcer; Once dubbed Britain's most wanted man, Frank Cook spent 27 of the first 43 years of his life in prison, 11 of them in solitary confinement, before going straight. Crime Reporter John Revill went to see him talk to students in Birmingham.''

When I lived in Donny he was like a bit of a mythical figure. I’d heard of him (as most people had at that time) but never saw him. I do remember being in the the Nags Head one night in the early 80’s though and a bloke walking in with a couple of tough guys. Literally everyone in the pub put down their drinks and walked out. I just followed everyone else but was later told that he was a local ‘business man’ who owned the doormen. Can’t remember his name though but was a very scary looking fella.

we had a mythical figure in Bentley who was always on the run when I was a kid. Posters of him everywhere. I don't know if they ever prosecuted him but Bill Stickers was a legend to us young 'ens.
