If you dismiss the Mail, Telegraph, Times et al as propaganda, why the f**k would you think people on the other side of the argument believe a thing you quote from the mirror, observer, guardian etc?
-
Politic is pretty corrupt
Its become too Presidential (probably from Thatchers era onwards) and we (the Electorate) are by and large fed up with being lied to by Politicans on all sides AND their mouthpieces
So in answer to your question though it wasnt directed at me I am pretty sure is you (one) just cant believe a thing any of them say nor anything in any Paper that supports one of the big two
I have advocated Proportional Representation and hope that one day (it wont be in my lifetime) we may change to that. Politicians will still promise a Train every 10 minutes because they know they wont be in power and have to deliver on it - or 40 new Hospitals and 50000 Nurses to staff the NHS now which we all KNOW now will probably not happen either but there will be less need for such sensational claims under PR (imo) and we perhaps wont be subjected to such polarised politics - AND concentrate on the issues NOT the personalities
WOW - I was just going to answer NO to your OP LOL

Anyone that reads news across the board understands why without the the information in the links and would wonder why you would even pose the question Ldr

Ldr
I personally don't discount the Times and Telegraph. They have a political agenda, but for the most part they report honest facts.
My real gripe is specifically with the mail. Because, as I've said times many, I know exactly from personal experience that they will deliberately deceive their readers for a political agenda. Having seen them do it to me on a nothing story, I wouldn't trust them on anything.
-
Plenty on here do BST, a lot of issue as I've raised before in this country is the penchant to dismiss what you dont want to believe as propaganda
-
I've not seen anyone dismiss stories from the Times and Telegraph because they came from the Times or Telegraph.
I've seen several people dismiss anything from the Guardian.
And I agree. That is a serious problem. And it predominantly (not entirely, but predominantly) comes from the Right. Whether it's climate change denial, refusal to listen to economists on the effects of Austerity, or the PM today refusing to look at a photo of a kid laying on the floor of a hospital.
Surveys in America have shown consistently for years that people with a right-wing political outlook are significantly less trusting of scientific consensus opinions, less believing in climate change and evolution. It's a deeply worrying problem.
-
The Times is quite factual tbf. The Mail is classed as propaganda by an non-biased independent organisation.

put up all the examples of where this has happened Ldr?
-
No, I have a life, you have eyes, scroll yourself, you'll find "SydneyRover" at the top of a lot of them
-
now you're doing a bb, making a claim and telling others to prove it.
-
No, I'm just not been told what to do by a nobody. Trouble with you Sydney is you demand and get peoples back up. BST would probably have asked but you think your entitled to demand
-
Wrong again Sydney. I make claims and tell others who discredit them to prove I'm wrong.
You see, it's people like you with comments like that who stop people like me taking anything you say seriously.
-
you have zero cred Ldr, you tried to tell the world weeks ago that there privatisation is not happening now you saying that people have dismissed articles put up just cos thet are from right wing non-trustworthy papers or just tory papers abd can't prove either.
-
No, I choose not to pander to you
-
And zero cred would still be miles ahead of you
-
plus you're like bb cos when you can't answer a quetion you insult the questioner
-
like I said, you can't handle the truth
-
Bye Sydney, dont expect me to engage with you in future
-
still no answers then, thrown the toys out?
-
Sydney, I think you're better letting the Guardian talk for you.
-
Ldr and you bb should try what reasonable ple do when they are wrong, admitting it and/or apologising
-
I wouldn't waste your time BB
-
I know I shouldn't LDR, but I find it amusing. Take this thread for instance. I'm accused of insulting the questioner and I'd not even commented in the thread!
At least I try to have the decency to only insult participants, when necessary!
-
Maybe you could demand all the examples be listed?
-

Just to go back to Ldr's OP this is particularly relevant today as IPSO has found the Mail on Sunday guilty of making false claims about Labour's tax plans.
If someone has examples of any of the other papers quoted of being found guilty of making false claims please feel free to inform us.
I post the link to the story in the Guardian - because as far as I can see they are the only newspaper reporting it. Funny that.
