The one and only demographic group that voted more heavily for Con over Lab in both 17 and 19 is the retired.

The elections have been decided by the retired.

There has been a lot of talk about Labour losing the working class vote whereas the polling suggests that the majority of people in work actually voted Labour.

It was the people not in work, living off wealth, who overwhelming didn't vote Labour.

Which if my memory serves me correctly is roughly in line with the demographic who voted for Brexit
