Title: Creativity Corner
Post by: River Don on December 20, 2019, 06:25:59 pm
What's a middle aged bloke meant to do in his spare time, go down pub? Ale house futsal? Whittle carvings?

Well, Occasionally I have found myself tapping out electronic music on an iPad. With no musical training, a rudimentary understand of music, a cheap bit of software and only a love of electronic music from my favourite post industrial cities, Sheffield, Düsseldorf, Detroit and Chicago to help me. It's an unusual hobby, I admit.

Have a listen and see what you think. Any feedback will be interesting.

Apologies in advance if the sound quality is shite. I don't know what I'm doing with this Soundcloud thing.

I'm hearing a nod to Tony De Vit, Harold Faltermeyer and Farley Jackmaster Funk.

You know what Nudga,

I've been trying to do something with the clean space of Axel F and still be funky and it is hard. I can't decide whether Faltermeyer knew what he was doing or if it came about because of the limitations of his equipment.

It's a very different sound to anything you hear today.
