...in 2007/08, we had 28 points.
Funny old game.
-
We also had Richie Wellens, Brian Stock and Copps all in their 20s...
-
We had a proven manager and a squad with a lot of experience.
It isn't comparable at all.
-
We had a manager who had one promotion from Level 4, one relegation from Level 3 and a record of underachievement with excellent squads.
We did have those players and they were consistently labouring, keeping possession but lacking forward punch and looking clueless as to how to break down organised defences.
In the 20th match, we'd been utterly outplayed at home by a mid-table side.
Funny old game.

Come on now BST, you’re spoiling it for the resident moaners! Let them have their moment with their wild conspiracy theories. It’s like reading the Fortean Times...
-
No conspiracy theories from me,
16th in the table isn’t very good though whichever way you look at it.
We’ve struggled significantly for over 3 months now
It’s a massive January for us
-
As silent Majority says we have a top six budget and we are 16th in the table, someone is under achieving, one way or the other something will be proved this January.

How many games have we played. 20 We are 2/3 behind almost everyone else.
We have won more games than we have lost.
We are doomed relegation in May. !!!
Please can we stop these knee jerk reactions on this forum every time we lose.
Yesterday people were talking about the play offs again.
The opinion graph on here would be so stark in contrast from one win to a defeat it would go off the scale.
:headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

To be fair though Campsall, we looked nothing like a top six side today and apart from Boxing Day, we have looked very average for a couple of months.
-
The way we are playing i don't think those games in hand will help us move up the table. Unless we strengthen and actually play with some plan to get the best out of us
-
Knee jerk reactions 😂😂😂
You do realise we’ve only won 3 games out of the last 12 don’t you?
Having 2/3 games in hand is irrelevant if you aren’t winning games I’m afraid

And you’ve been grumbling about it all season. In fact you’ve grumbled about the Rovers fairly constantly since DF left
-
I’ve got to agree with Dickos on this occasion.
It is a fact that we have won 3 from 12 and that would indicate that the games in hand won’t be too productive.
-
It's only a game, so
Put up a real good fight,
I'm gonna be snookering you tonight.
I'm famed for my aim, so
Y'better believe I'm right,
I'm gonna be snookering you,
Snookering you tonight!
Big Break.
Makes as much sense posting random song lyrics than some of the b*llocks spouted on here us being doomed.
-
Some supporters will be happy with whatever we serve up, as long as we don't have an owner like a Richardson again, then we've no right to complain.

You don't have talk some b*llocks.

I agree hound we have been well below our best since the demolition at Southend.
But there are reasons. The injuries to Ennis, Sterling, John, Wright and Blair have been very significant.
The Suspension to Anderson also.
The postponements of the Tranmere match in particular and the Shrewsbury match stopped our momentum in its tracks.
Our squad depth is not good enough to cope with those absences.
Mitigating circumstances. I am not making excuses just pointing out the facts.
In 2012/13 how many of Sullivan, Quinn, McCombe, Jones, Spurr,
Coppinger, Furman, Lundstrum, Keegan, Cotterall,
Hume, Painter, & Brown got injuries and missed more than 2 matches
Those 13 players were the core of the team. It was a settled team who knew its strengths and played to them. Very often it wasn’t pretty but they ground out results.
The 13 best players we have now are all players with considerable ability. How many have we had on the field of play in all our matches?
The ones we won we did. We lost only to Portsmouth ( we were the better team ) Oxford & today when we had strong teams out on the pitch.
Everyone needs to take a back seat and look at the situation without the blinkers on.
We are work in progress. DM has had half a transfer window to assemble a squad left threadbear by GM’s untimely walk out.
Give DM time. He is not a miracle worker. He needs 4 more windows at least.
Why is it the biggest voice of reason once again is not a DRFC supporter.
Well done Tyke, as i have said previously you are a breath of fresh air on this forum.

You need to stop believing everything you read from some on here.
You will struggle to find any negativity from me during last season I’m afraid.
And I was over the moon when we appointed Moore.
So all in all, your paragraph is pretty much a load of nonsense
-
I do feel right now we are a mid table size, cannot deny that. The key is january and if we can get strength in. Tough ask though and feels like a mid table finish is what we will get. Either way darren moore gets 12 months at it from today barring relegation as he will then have had time to build his squad. If no progress in a year then think about a change.

Funny old game.
Whilst they didnt set the world alight we also had Heffernan and Hayter at our disposal not Ennis and Thomas and Bingham.. it's not rocket science or a funny old game.. we were underachieving at that point in the season.. currently we are on par I'd say with the squad at our disposal no matter the spin our board would give it..

I too have to agree with Dickos on this occasion Hound. I also have to remind you both that the stats are even worse than that; it's not 3 wins from 12, it's only 2 from 12; I've just checked.
That's a truly appalling situation. Big January needed.
-
For a team with an apparent top 6 budget do we have a good enough squad? Are we doing well enough? The answer to both of those questions is no. It’s not being doom and gloom it’s being a realist.

Aye that was when SOD had a moment of clarity and finally dropped Mark Wilson who was cak, and replaced him with Greeny. From then on were outstanding bar the Swansea home game. This squad is nowhere as good as that squad in 2007/08
