Why don’t we all start talking about signing Kyle Lafferty. He’s a free agent and won’t sign for us

Who ?
-
It's his loss
-
Lafferty has been a busted flush for a while and also has an attitude problem. Sounds just the type for a Sunderland or a Fleetwood!

Lafferty is a forward so it’s guaranteed Sunderland will want him. Pretty sure they think the world is like Pokemon and they gotta catch em all!

“He’s 7 foooot and plays the flute “

So far according to the BBC transfer page there have been 41 transactions involving the 71 FL Clubs.
The vast majority have been loans.
All the fees paid except the Posh £500.000 fee to Barnet are undisclosed fees.
So in reality very few transfers have taken place in 8 days.
To say other clubs are signing players and we are not is very much a myth.
Only a few clubs have signed anyone yet and those that have, with the odd exception have signed only 1 player.

i was going to suggest him as well then reading this thread i recalled "a vague memory" perhaps could "allegedly" say "sponsored" a "certain type of companies" profits "365 days a year"
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41239996
on reading the article fair play to him
-
He is about as mobile as a continent. The antithesis of Ennis. Could not imagine a player less able to fit in our system.

Half of league one have made at least one signing,
Not really a myth is it

Billy Sharp is the name that pops up,pointless thread though really as it would never happen.
-
I’ll add Gary Madine
-
It's no good signing players just for the sake of it is there, signing players is a waiting game when the right player is available we will get him in not until
-
Sunderland apparently haha thats least 10 strikers there getting ,Gary Nadine that is

Not necessarily so vicar.
What if that player is able to get a better deal for himself elsewhere.
DRFC have to be prepared to offer competitive rates to attract these so called right players.

Hound I have sent you a message to your phone mate

And it's generally accepted on here that we need three additions.
So if you work on the basis that 41 players change hands in 8 days and then allow for a bit of a surge at the end of the month, then you're talking about, on average, 300 players moving in the January window. If we take 3 in, we'll be looking to account for 1% of the player activity.
So, yes, don't be surprised if 99% of January window transfer activity involves other clubs!
-
The point is we needed probably 3 additions to the squad but 4 have left now. So in reality we need 7 additions to be where we wanted to be

Replacing those who have left should be ok..

Thankyou, so you agree that it isn’t a myth that other sides are signing players and we aren’t, as you said in your earlier post

Here we go again. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

You don’t need to start saying things like “here we go again” when you realise your point makes no sense
-
Can’t have a sensible conversation with you dickos.
You are always right aren’t you.
-
Campsall
You stated it was a myth that other sides are making signings and we aren’t.
I’ve shown you it’s not a myth and you’ve gone all childish

He won’t give it a rest though he is just trying to wind me up. It’s pathetic. How is anyone supposed to have a sensible debate without it turning out into a slanging match.
All I want to do is discuss all things Rovers in an adult manor.

Yes campsall you are quite right it’s all down to me , you didn’t start the slanging match at all.

You’re playing right into ‘their hands’ with tantrums like that!

So explain to me Colin how do i ignore him when he is replying to my posts.
It would become impossible to continue with that thread if it put my posts at an end because i dare not reply.
All I want is to is put my views forward on this forum in a sensible adult way.
I don’t want this constant tit for tat which he seems to thrive on. Beginning to think he is deliberately trying to wind me up. It really is pathetic and i have had enough.
I said a few days ago can we all just try to be civil with each other and it hasn’t lasted even a few days.
There are others on this forum who are as bad of course and some quite abusive. It is really sad and a poor reflection of some of our so called supporters.
Beginning to wonder if all this ‘agro’ is really worth it. I am a peace loving non confrontational person who just wants to give 100% support to the football club i have followed home & away through thick & thin for the last 45 years.
Is it possible to have a forum without all this confrontation?
-
Campsall, there are one or two posters who I don’t respond to so it isn’t hard to do really.
Also, to be fair to Dickos, some of the points he makes are valid and worth taking on board.
As are some of yours.
-
It’s all borne out of frustration, Campsall, in our inactivity so far, in the transfer dealings.
Sign 3 or 4 quality players and it will settle down. But, I’m fearing the worst, right now.

I have never said that some of his points aren’t valid. That’s not the issue.

Fear not. It will happen. 2 at least.

51 deals done now in EFL Up to yesterday evening
34 are loans.
17 permanent transfers
2 of those were unattached.
So in 9 days we have had 15 permanent transfers involving either a Free transfer or a Fee involving 71 clubs.
I said most deals would be loans & that is certainly the case.
So there is very little availability of fee paying transfers in this window in the lower leagues.
Now please tell me if that is FACT or FICTION
If it’s fiction then i must have lost my marbles.
If that’s loads of deals being done then i am quite simply living on another planet.
This is the last i am saying on this subject in case it starts another spat.
-
It won’t be a surprise to most on here that the majority of moves would be loans.
-
That’s correct hound,
It’s the same for us, I’d expect a couple of loans to replace the ones that have left but then woukd like a deal or two done which are permanent signings.
Nobody has said there’ll be loads of these deals done but other clubs are showing they can be done so let’s hope we join them
-
For the purposes of this season, it makes no difference as to whether the player is on loan or permanent. If the argument is that we need bodies now, then their contractual relationship is irrelevant other than loans are fixed until end of season, remembering we have sent back two loanees already. We need a core of permanent contracted players but that can happen in the summer when both players are more likely to be available given contracts typically expire in June, and clubs more likely to countenance players leaving. Buying in this window is not especially a priority unless an obvious opportunity presents itself.
-
Of course not if we didn’t already have 4 loan players. Which by default means we can only improve our match day squad with one player if we only sign loan players.
The only reason I’m suggesting we need to sign a few on permanent deals is because it’s the only way we can improve our match day squad
