Title: Southend
Post by: 5 on Tour on January 21, 2020, 10:07:19 am
So they’ve not paid wages in December on time and they’re now having a fire sale of every player that anyone wants.

I know they’ve been in trouble for a while but are we about to lose another club?

I hope that the action that they are now taking will save them, but time will tell.

I was at the time of our playoff semi-final with them, that they could not afford the cost of football in the Championship, so wouldn't be going up. I dismissed it as nonsense at the time, but it's interesting that they seem to have wolves at their door again (not the football team from the midlands)

I really feel for Sol Campbell, who I feel is actually a good manager. Going from his last job to this one really is jumping from the pan into the fire.

That’s your best post for a month hound.  :woohoo: Only kidding mate.  :)

Yes it would be just our luck if they didn’t turn up.

Well the precedent has been set that they can do it with little punishment. In some ways it would be good if they did (obviously not against us again) just to show what a mess the Bolton decision made.

Reports now on Southend local rag that we are interested in their striker Stephen Humphrey.

Awesome. We should start a thread(or 3) to discuss it. 😂

Well, if the players haven’t been paid there is a realistic chance of them going on strike.

I thought the goals programme on Quest this weekend said that the December wages had been paid, albeit late, for some of their players.?

I didn't realise that some clubs still use 'paperwork' to pay their players............  cheque's in the post eh.

Did he really? And did he think anyone would believe him? Amazing how the clubs with money never have an admin error but the ones with cash problems do. Must be a massive coincidence.

Didn’t Real Madrid have an admin error with their fax (!) machine when trying to sign De Gea a few seasons back? They’re not exactly short of a bob or two.

Ambitious new Ground plans as well

They may not need 21000 capacity either
