I am completely and utterly baffled. The lad from Bolton has hit half way up James’ leg while off the ground and studs showing. Bolton free kick? WTF!?
If the replay shows it to be as bad as it looks at first glance then it’s a straight red!
-
Ref been a joke all game Bolton lose a header free kick to them
-
Deffo went straight through James and still got the free kick, would n’t be surprised if he’s broken his leg
-
I read it different, thought that it was fifty fifty
-
He’s going to be a big big miss if it’s as serious as it looked.
-
The lads caught him in ghe aftermath of passing the ball. Just one of them things.
-
Looked like a season-ender if not worse.
I hope the lad is OK but I'm.fearing the worst.
-
It certainly looked serious, as said above it’s a big loss if he’s out for a while as he’s 3 times the player that John is at left back.

If it is as serious as it looked, I hope we all get behind John and support him.
-
Once again the referee was guessing. He booked Ennis because their player screamed like a girl. He only tried to block the ball.
Got it wrong for James incident for me but the overriding sadness is with James injury. Hope it's not as bad as it looked!
-
Gutted for the lad, cracking player for us. Really hope it's not as bad as it looked.
-
I hope it isn’t as bad as it looked but I expect it to be so.
From the south stand it looked like a 50/50 but impossible to know for sure.
The ref took an age to give the free kick but he was so poor all night that I wasn’t surprised.
-
According to DM he’s got a bad gash on his shin, he does n’t think its a break
-
Such a disappointment if he is out for the season at least Cameron John is defensively as good as Reece.
Maybe a chance for Amos to get a run out
-
Sincerely hope that it isn't anything serious, he was down a long time. I believe he had a serious injury or two in the past few years so would be gutted for him if he has another now.
John did well when he came on for him though, encouraging if he does have to come in.
The referee was appalling all night.
-
That sounds encouraging for James. Finger crossed. I suspect he'll still be out for a month at best though.
Personally, I thought it was a foul by James, but I haven't seen the video.
But I agree that ref was poor. His most abject moment being early in the 2nd half when we got a free kick in the halfway line, a Bolton player tried to kick the ball away but a Rovers player blocked it then took the free kick quickly and the ref blew up and made us re-take the free kick from literally a yard away.

He'll be out for a lot longer than a month, he has a very nasty deep gash in his leg right down to the bone.
-
John and Amos decent cover.
-
Really hope he is back soon, one of McCann’s better decisions the lad has been consistently good.
-
When a player gets carried off theres usually a round of applause from both sets of Fans, I looked over to the Bolton lot and no one was clapping, the arrogant set of tossers

He looked in agony. Poor fella. The Bolton player knew what he'd done too, I thought. As soon as he was back on his feet he was well away from the scene.

They were actually booing him Dave, classless gits

Summed their attitude up all night unfortunately, shame they'll be in league 2 next year.

Yes, I noticed that. Showed their lack of class! Deserve their relegation.

I thought the ref got it right that James committed the initial foul
-
how the hell did the Bolton lad not get red carded, let alone win the free kick???

Definite Bolton free kick 😮😮😮
-
Just watched the video. It's definitely a foul by James. That image above is unfair on the Bolton lad. He's stretched for the ball and made clean contact and the image there is the follow-on of his leg swing after playing the ball. James gets there late and doesn't get near the ball.
Nothing malicious or reckless from either player. Just very, very unfortunate for James.

Do you have a link to the video BST?

I subscribe to iFollow NNK.

Thanks BST, pity there's no link to the incident on YouTube.
I was almost directly above the incident and it looked like a 50-50 to me at the time. Two committed players going for the same ball.
-
That's what it was NNK. Their lad had stumbled, which is what made James think he could get the tackle in. But he recovered and got his foot (not raised) to the ball with James still a good half a yard away.
-
I initially thought the Bolton lad had lost control of the ball and clattered James. I was livid when the free kick was given then worried about Reece
-
Watching on ifollow with several replays, James slides in but at the collision it looked like a 50/50..
-
Anybody heard owt on how James is?
