That's why we developed the scientific method Ldr. Folk who consistently lie and ignore facts that contradict them get weeded out.
In 1860, every physicist in the world believed in the existence of the luminiferous ether. Then the Michelson-Morley experiment proved beyond doubt that it didn't exist. So by the early 1900s, only the cranks still believed in its existence.
Unfortunately, in politics we don't have an equivalent. We don't have a rigorous process by which claims are assessed and those propagating false claims are dismissed. So you still had 48% of the population believing on the day of the 2016 Referendum that we actually did give £350m/week to the EU. And the man who deliberately, consistently and knowingly lied consistently about that wasn't held to task. He was elected PM.
The only solution is to point out every prediction that is validated by events, and every one what is shown to be wrong. Then it's up to folk to look into their own hearts and decide if they want to support people who lie and deceive them, or if they want to address facts which challenge them.
