I wondered if anyone had or had a link to video footage of the above game. I am sure I have watched it some time in the past, although a search on YouTube and Google didn't bring anything up.
The match was played at Belle Vue and was covered by Yorkshire TV. Highlights were screened on their Sunday afternoon show.
The person who is trying to find this is Micky French, who scored one of Rovers' goals in the 2-2 draw, although it would be of interest to many of us on here.

I vaguely remember this - one of the few occasions when that programme featured us. I’m sure I’ve seen it somewhere since too, but can’t eemwbr at all.

I remember he scored a Geoff Hurst type goal vs Aldershot, think was the last home game of the season at the Town End

My mate Derrick Downing has had issues with this kind of thing. Derrick had a fantastic career with Middlesborough and Leyton Orient, regularly appearing on Match of the Day and Yorkshire TV. By the fact that his kids were only babies at the time, the only way they could get to see him play would be to obtain the videos of the games that were televised.
However, this has proved impossible. He's offered to pay umpteen amounts of money to get the videos, but they just aren't available. Apparently it's something to do with copyright laws.

I remember the game well , I'd just began work that summer as a 16 year old and able to watch my club to almost every game home and away .
It was a fine timing too as we started our journey to division two that season under Allan Clarke and then Norman Hunter .
There were two special trains that were put on by British Rail for this game and both myself and my mates were on the first one .
Had a really big following inside Belle Vue that afternoon , around 5k I reckon .
Rovers were two up at one point until we got our act together and the game finished 2-2 .
I've seen a minor clip on YouTube of the game but it was part of a compilation called " Those Were The Days " which covers the clubs period between 1978 to 1982 .
The clip just shows our opening goal that day scored by Ali Millar at the Rossington End and there's nowt else unfortunately .
