This article is worth it's own thread I think - a look at the inner workings of government over the past couple of weeks and how some of the 'expert's turned out not to have that much expertise.

"If you want to know how much we underestimated this, last Wednesday Rishi's budget gave a £30 billion stimulus for the economy, six days later he had to spend another £330 billion," said a Whitehall official.

This is what happens when you say there is no such thing as society, promote rampant individualism, free market ideology, deregulation, privatisation and undermining of public services  collective responsibility and accountability whilst pursuing national, political and economic self interest.
