Just out of interest......how many of our posters like jam sandwiches?
I do like them.
-
Depends if you've done anything wrong Hound :)
-
No, I keep the jar I have opened in the fridge.
Are you going to say whether you like them or not?
-
if you insist, no
-
There’s nowt wrong with a bit of bread and jam now and again.. sandwich or open.
Even better if the jam is home made, and the bread.
-
if you insist, no
Is that no you won’t say or no you don’t like them?
Try to be clearer with your answer please.
-
Big fan. But prefer peanut butter and jam on toast even more.
-
Jam on toast is grand but in a sandwich it is disgusting.
-
I've just had a compo cheese spread sandwich - wasn't bad, but a bit salty...... not a fan of jam at all, but thick cut marmalade on toast is my fave...
-
Used to love cheese and jam sarnies when I was young
-
After all thats ocCurd it's good to PRESERVE a bit of humour on the forum.
I love jam sandwich's too by the way. It's Hartley a crime.
-
It would be below Syd Hound, anyway he is of a generation who don't know how to make them and Greggs don't sell them.
-
As log as it's decent bread and freshly made, yeah, I'll have a jam butty. Leave it too long and the jam soaks into the bread at which point I'll decline.
-
I've been promised a jam sandwich tomorrow by a politician that I know.😉
-
Now now idler, lets not turn this into another political thread.
It is a research one.
-
Strawberry jam on buttered cream crackers one of my favourite snacks
-
Interesting, my wife likes jam on cream crackers.
I’ve never tried them that way.
-

In my 30's and I still love a cheese and jam sandwich, or cheese and tomato ketchup or the best of the 3 cheese and marmite!!
-
I love damson jam but it's getting harder to find.
-
Strawberry jam on buttered Crumpets, bloody gorgeous.

I've always loved a bit of crumpet BB, but those days are long gone.
-
SS. Do you mean that you've got a knob of butter that is only useful for spreading on crumpets?
-

I didn’t think the question was so tough to answer.
-

I often take a black current jam sandwich for my tea on our return trip to away matches, travelling on the Travel Club Coach.
So answer is yes.

I don't think I have ever had a jam sandwich in my life. We couldn't afford anything so exotic when I was a nipper and when I started on the building sites it was cheese all the way. Have I been missing out?
-
Not when you can have butter on digestives

Oh yes wilts, you have been missing out sir.

Each to their of course hound but it doesn't sound like a midday meal to me - sounds like something you get in prison!

They wouldn’t get anything as nourishing as a jam sandwich in prison.

No need to save one for the potential new neighbour though Sproty, apparently he doesn’t like jam.......I think.

I went to school with kid who had butter sandwiches and sugar sandwiches for a treat. No jam going on there.
-
I always liked jam sarnies, but when I was a kid my mother would never pack me them up as a take out because they were classed as cheap, lower working-class sandwiches. Ironically, lower working class is probably what we were, but my mother always insisted on us taking out quality sandwiches made with quality bread. I think it was called mother's pride in those days.

Ho-Ho-Hovis.
During the War, my grandmother used to bake her own bread, and because times were hard, to stop the family eating it too quickly, she used to put stuff in it that they'd choke on if they gobbled it down. Usually buttons.
I think they ca....actually, f**k this. I've got too much pride to follow this through.
-
Bread and dripping, the classic poor mans sandwich 🤪
-
I was partial to a Treacle (Golden syrup) sandwich especially for Breakfast
Then I would travel on School bus and was a bad traveller - motion sickness
One morning on the School driveway I was violently ill. Passing Teacher (Josh Kelly - what a character) stopped to help me out.
Have you had any breakfast boy he asked. Yes sir a Treacle Sandwich I replied. Not surprised you were sick then he said and carried on .
-
I’m eating a cinnamon and raisin bagel, toasted, with real butter. Topped with home made rhubarb and strawberry jam.,
-
When I worra lad we had sugar sandwiches, carnation milk sandwiches, dripping sandwiches and from September onwards sliced apple sandwiches after nickin em by the bagload from Owston orchard.
-
Ah, but when you worra lad you're talking about a time when we could pick our own fruit!
But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't believe ya'.
-
Nobody mentioned jam on leftover Yorkshire pudding for Sunday tea?
-
What’s “leftover” Yorkshire pudding.?

Yeah. But like I said, I've got enough self respect to pull out before the end.
-
Pity your dad didn't have the same principles! ;)

Shock horror..BST leaves BB an open goal.
😆

Where are all the defenders when you need them.

That has to be Golden syrup

I'm waiting for some obvious answers here.
-

Be sure to wear a beanie as I don't want to be blinded (by your own admission) if I'm driving

Oh! No!
That inference never dawned on me when I wrote my post!!!
If only! If only I were a comedy genius like BB!
-
I wish you were a comedy genius like me too. It must be great to hear someone else's hilarity for a change instead of constantly being the creator of it!

Make sure you take your litter home with you Steve lol
Seriously it’s a lot tidier around the village since KFC and Mc D’s has shut
