Good heavens I thiought some of our left wing activist Woolfie Smith wannabes could spout poop but I just saw this silly fart being interviewed on Al Jazeera and boy was she full of herself when asked about the stat relating to BME deaths due to Covid 19...Political rights activist Lawyer Shola Mos shogbaminu thinks "the key reasons are that systemic inequality fueled by institutional rasism having passed social economic disadvantages on Bme communities which has exacerbated the exposure to Corona virus
from Bme individuals comes highly more likely to be exposed to covid would be obtuse the formal revue by Govt excuses away structural intersected inequalities that the reason for the disproportionate discriminatory impact is down to biological physiological reasons that would be wrong I have no doubt in my mind is that if thats a track they try to take people in the BME communities would not tolerate that it is clear that that is their attempt to depart from the real reason .which is structural intersected inequalities in the United Kingdom.fueled by institutional racism that imposes social economic disadvantages on people from the BME communities and that is what exacerbates the exposure to Corona virus." And she spat all of that out without even pausing to draw breath!

If her political ability is on a par with her linguistic ability, then no wonder she spouts such crap.

Sproty watches Al Jazeera - who knew!
-
Decide for yourself. She sounds like she has quite a thoughtful and controlled delivery to me.
https://twitter.com/SholaMos1/status/1251050146361638912
Course, if Sproty transcribes that with no punctuation, maybe that says more about his own standard of English?
-
Hey I have had a very good well paid career with 'my Standard of English'
And I'm sorry to disagree once I translated her diatribe into 'plain English' I would have delivered a message that 95 % of the population would understand!
-
I'm not sure I'm following you Sproty.
Are you still saying she poured out a stream of consciousness without drawing breath, or speaking in the way you'd do if you'd no comprehension of punctuation?
Only, if she did, there must be another video, right? Cos it's not that one.
So, if you HAVEN'T seen a different video, what exactly was the point of your OP?

The interviewer started off stating the first 10 Deaths were Doctors, Shola spouts the race line! how many times does she use the term institutional Racism? Since when has a Career in the health service been a form of inflicting abuse on BME people ? My Mother my Aunt were both Auxillery Nurses , My Cousin was a Nurse, my Daughter in law is a Nurse, 4 female relatives are nurses, My sister in law is a Care worker in Mental Health. My other daughter in Law is a Radiographer. Since when did these important respectable roles become demeaning? and a vehicle for racists to inflict institutional racism on BME people? She was spouting a load of patronising garbage which was an insult to folks working in the Health Service.
-
Now we are getting somewhere.
You didn't like what she said, so you decided to make up a load of b*llocks about how she said it.
-
You mean you agree with her?
-
I'm not the issue here Sproty. You started this thread with a load of b*llocks about someone's delivery.
And that load of b*llocks wasn't even a true transcript of what she said. Not only did you leave out all the punctuation, you also left out large amounts of the content and instead ran together sections that were 60 seconds apart to make it seem rambling and poorly structured.
That seems to have rattled SS's cage who weighed in with his own opinions on her apparent standard of English.
I assume you had a reason for doing that, but f**k knows what it was.
If you have issues with the core content of what she actually said, which is
a) BAME people have generally poor economic status.
b)BAME people more than average live in poorer quality, more crowded housing.
c) BAME people disproportionately work in lowly paid key worker roles which means that they disproportionately haven't been able to isolate
and
d) She hasn't got much confidence in a Tory party that presided over the Windrush obscenity and the "hostile environment" to handle this question,
then please explain what those issues are. That's kind of the way that adult discussions go. I'd be happy to engage.
If you want to do dog whistle racist stuff by trying to belittle a BAME person's quality of English, I'm out.

Just watched the video, doesn't bear comparison with how it was presented in the original post, so what were you hoping to achieve?

Arsehole is as arsehole does. If there's any offense in that, it must be down to my extremely poor English with no punctuation and disgraceful lack of grammar and syntax.
-
Oh dear the 'left wing Grammar Police ' are out in force!, I apologise for my lack of punctuation but I didn't see any when her lips moved, she was talking ! I merely recorded the silly rhetoric which she was spouting I didn't realise I was being assessed for an interpreter job at the UN!
-
No Sproty.
No you didn't.
You spliced together several different sections of what she actually said. Sections that were delivered in a reasoned and thoughtful, controlled manner. And you spliced them together without any punctuation. And you said she said it all without drawing breath.
THAT is precisely what you did.
WHY you did it, God alone knows, although I have my suspicions.

I too have my suspicions about your own criticism of my post, I am an intelligent man, I would not quote somebody and then give twits like you the source to view for yourself, my advice to you is reel yor neck in and stick to the graphs herr Goebels!

Sprotyrover... "I'm an intelligent man" but don't understand punctuation and can't even get my posts in the right place :boxing:

She spoke coherently, your writing did not reflect that. You say you are an intelligent man and yet your posts on this subject show a very lack of what you claim. Anyone reading these posts needs to look at the video and see how it has been presented in such an awful light, even if you don't agree with what's she's saying.

My criticism IS me posting. I can't believe someone as intelligent as you say you are failing to comprehend that.

I dont think you'd enjoy that line of work. Too many Jonny Foreigners.

In future I will wait until I can post a link rather than transcribing what she said using the pause button on my remote and my Tablet device. I didn't realise the use of grammar and punctuation was such a massive issue on an off topic subsection of a Relatively low echelon football teams fans forum 👍🏻

Sproty.
She tweeted the video of the interview herself.
You could have just posted that and saved yourself a lot of typing.
Mind, I accept that if you HAD posted that video, you'd have looked f**king stupid also posting your commentary on it.
Isn't it time to stop digging?

Billy I was upset that someone could try and create a Racist agenda out of
NHS staff giving their lives to save others, a Career in the NHS is not a 7 year sentence on a Venetian War Galley it is a much respected job!
-
Out of interest why when one person has a go a sproty does everyone else jump on the bandwagon?

They why not let her video speak for itself instead of distorting it and not linking to the video itself?
-
Sproty.
Then perhaps you could have said that.
And perhaps you could have listened a bit more carefully to what she said, because I didn't get that impression at all from what she said.
She said that BAME people disproportionately do public-facing key worker jobs. Which is true.
-
Is that because of racism?
-
That's a matter for intelligent, grown up discussion. Different people will have different and fairly held opinions on the topic. And they can, if they want, discuss them. Maybe even agree to disagree.
-

Herd mentality?

How can it be up for discussion if you won't cast an opinion?
-
Experience suggests that's not really what you are looking for BB.
Go on. Surprise me.

And can you explain why that is institutional rascism, a phrase she used several times. This country has a habit of Pinching Staff who have Qualified in other countries I was chatting to a Nurse from Ghana and she came here for the Princes ransom in pay, likewise the Ghurka regiment its the pay disparity that attracts them. Likewise my mother and aunt they came here from another country because the job paid better.
-
No Sproty. I can't explain, because I'm not sufficiently knowledgeable about the subject.
I suspect there are strong arguments on both sides as to why BAME people frequently have worse economic outlooks, poorer underlying health and poorer housing. And that is a long and complex thing to research.
But at least you are showing interest in that as a topic for debate, which is an improvement on yesterday. Maybe you could spend more time looking into the arguments on both sides and educate all of us?
-
Sadly, clearly not.

Here's a really interesting interview with a really interesting bloke. It's an hour, but, you know, we've all got a bit of time on our hands these days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atfVUgyEIOI
Quite challenging to listen to, but definitely helps understand how society works differently for BAME people.
