Seeking clarity on this one but appears to be an MP broadcasting that he has broken the law regarding gatherings?

I know. Same day as a bloke with coronavirus symptoms decided to give a speech in the HoC as well.
What's the law on that btw?
-
It's a shit thing for a public figure to do. If he wasn't a backbencher I'd call for him to be sacked for sure. However, the government has essentially blown their own guidance out of the water and practically lifted lockdown to cover their own arses, so you can't really blame him too much.
-
Macho you can’t believe that mate, no matter what Cummings has done it does not make it right, if that was a Tory doing that this forum would be in meltdown
-
It is a f**king stupid thing for him to do.
-
A friend of mine went to protest today, they have spent all week posting on fb that visitors should be banned from Blackpool as it’s to busy and impossible to social distance, then goes and does that some people are strange
-
I think what he did was wrong for sure. But - just like everyone currently out at the beach or hiking - can you blame him? The current messaging seems to be that people can go out as much as they like with who they like. At least he's out for a worthy cause, and not just topping up his tan.
-
That is not the message thou, the message is to stay 2 metres apart, that today is just plain dangerous not just him as a mp everyone there, yes it’s a good cause but at what expense!
-
Not only that you can go hiking you can go to the beach and social distance if you get there and it’s to busy go somewhere else It can’t be that hard
-

I’d say it’s impossible to massage two metres apart 😉
-
Totally irresponsible. He should resign or be sacked.
-
A stupid action and loads of people in one of the most at risk groups milling about in close contact. It would be maybe more understandable if the murder had actually happened in this country.
The MP wants disciplining by his party.
-
Was it irresponsible? Yes.
Was it a stupid thing to do? Yes.
Was it any different to MP's queueing to vote in parliament? No.
Of course he was wrong. Just as Mogg is wrong to in trying to force parliament back to vote in person.
-
Dumb
-
Crazy fool - MPs are prominent persons, he could have made a stand to support the cause in another way.
Assuming as he is/was in London, he will be attending Parliament.? Simple, just take a knee when entering the chamber - would be all over the news especially if he was the first to do so.
-
Should be disciplined by the Labour Party, as for being sacked, only his constituents can do that next time around
-
Agreed filo, his actions undermine what labor has to say about anyone else.
-
He will probably have gained support in his constituency for his action. A stupid thing to do healthwise and also leaving him and his party open to criticism from the Tory party and press.

Gardiner's statement
https://www.barrygardiner.com/recent-news/2020/06/04/why-i-joined-the-protest-yesterday/ if it’s not possible to social distance just go home don’t do it, he might have tested negative but the person next to him might just have given it him, not just him every other person there, what gets me many on this forum have blasted Johnson for say opening schools to early even thou they would social distance where can, yet this is fine, hypocritical at very best
