Seems to be turning into a Mini Jose
Wasn’t happy about celebrations the other week
Now not happy about having only 5 weeks to prepare for the new season after 4 month off
What’s going through his head. The players must be shattered playing twice a week for a short while
-
people banging on about how well he's done, a tweet summed it up the other day
Super Cup final - lost
Took Chelsea from 3rd to 4th
Fewer points than Sarri
Same goals against as Brighton
FA cup final lost
Yep did really well
-
He was in a win win
If he failed “I couldn’t buy anyone”
If he made champions league “look what I’ve done without being able to bring anyone in”
He’s not done too bad but didn’t warrant the job after his derby performance
I just hope he doesn’t turn into a moaning complaining numpty

i thought his comment after the Sheff United game spoke volumes about his situation “ all I could hear was Sheffield Inited voices on the pitch .
Yes Frank ..they had team spirit and helped each other our on every occasion .

His wife Christine is gorgeous though.

Back in 2006 my dad got World Cup tickets that Rovers had been given by the FA for one of the group games so we were sat in amongst various managers & WAGS. I was sat a couple of rows behind Frank Lampard’s then girlfriend Elen Rives - quite the distraction!

There aren’t many Chelsea fans complaining about how he’s done - all the ones I know are very happy with it, even though there’s no “on-paper” progress they find it much easier to watch and like seeing 3 or 4 who’ve come through the youth team every game.
Their defence is abysmal though, he’s bound to get more patience from fans and the board because of who he is but if he doesn’t improve that he’s not going to do much with them next season.

There’s something to be said for watching home grown talent come through the system into the first team. I imagine it would be hard to fully relate to a team of “mercenaries“ for want of a better word.
He’s one of our own has some currency I reckon.
-
But he’s not. He was brought through by West Ham fortunately for Chelsea and England
Absolute quality.
-
Overrated as a player and the same seems to be happening to him as a manager. TalkSPORT have always had their head up his arse for some reason. He was pure gash for England. He only got the Chelsea job on name and not experience. Next season will find him out.
-
When all his players are fit how many of his1st 11 would be youngsters? If Willian had have been fit there would have been 1, Mount, at the cup final

Not as many would be youngsters but then there would be more pressure on finishing higher/winning trophies. I didn’t expect Chelsea to be in the top 5 this season so for me he’s done a good job..

“Overrated as a player”??? 211 goals for Chelsea, from midfield. I wish DRFC had umpteen “overrated” players like him!

He was purely an extra luxury striker for Chelsea with very good players around him. This always surfaced when he put an England shirt on and always went missing. He was piss poor for England.
-
Successive Chelsea and England managers kept on picking him. He also had a stint with Man. City that doesn't happen with a bad player.

More goals for his country than Platt, Robson, Hurst, Keegan, Gerrard among others....
-
I thought he was a great player personally.

Getting picked for England regularly was not an indicator of his quality it merely highlighted the dearth of English talented midfielders at the time. The so called 'golden generation' did not even deliver a semi final for England.
-
Top class managers have obviously seen something that you have missed Jim.😉

So did I.

I think alot of people will disagree with Lampard labelled a 'great player'. He was a decent luxury striker in the premiership. He definitely wasn't international class as his performances for England would indicate.
-
I'm not sure if you're on the wind up at the moment or not. We are all entitled to opinions of course but Lampard's career speaks for itself in my opinion, he was consistently excellent in the Premier League for over 15 years and he did fine for England. That team collectively underachieved but they were full of great individual players, and Lampard was an integral part of the most successful Chelsea team there surely has ever been.
-
Opinions eh? I still think Christine Bleakley is tasty.
-
Lampard was world class, that could have walked into any team in Europe. To suggest he was only decent is criminal.
The way he conducted himself as Derby manager with the whole Spy Gate saga lacked class but takes nothing away from him as a player.

We also called Scholes, Gerrard and Rooney world class, all of which delivered world class performances on the world stage. 💩
-
Didn't Zidane say at one time that Scholes was the best midfield player in Europe?

Not only Zidane, Xavi also.

Steven Gerrard massively underperformed for England. He was a phenomenon in a Liverpool shirt but most of the time in an England shirt he spent the game trying unsuccessfully to ping Hollywood passes across the pitch. I’d argue that Lampard was a consistently better performer for England than Gerrard.

.... and one chalked off that might (imo) raised his profile even more. At least it got Hawkeye goal line techno introduced (for some) though
