Still is, I think.

Yep. Linked with some Championship teams too. We could still do with him tbf.
-
4-0 Gomes
-
"can we play you every week"
-
Very encouraging considering we had 3 Trialists playing and by no means anywhere near our strongest 11 playing.
It’s only a friendly of course and you can’t read too much into them but 4-0 is 4-0 whoever it’s against.
-
And...............still 2 loans missing!
I thought I’d get that one in.
:)
-
5:0 Copps

Playing for which side😉?
-
Thanks for the updates.
No doubt the naysayers were waiting with coiled fingers to pour scorn on their expected defeat. I hope they stick their fingers somewhere more appropriate!
As said before though, it's not about the result but getting valuable game time and working the shapes and patterns. Sounds like it might have gone well.
-
From what I’ve read, Richards was a threat in that attacking 3. Has DM found a gem?
-
Hopefully Garner has had a look at us and thought I want some of that 🤪🤪
-
Was Trialist 2 Butler?
-
Man Utd U23s drew 3-3 against Huddersfield the other day and have also drawn against Swindon in pre-season.
-
Not a score to read a lot into but a very good performance that is more encouraging. All in all we have had a decent pre-season even the defeat at Blackburn coming early and against a team much further prepared than ourselves was a decent performance.
Let's hope we can now carry it forward into the start of the league season and gain some early season momentum.

It was more the U21 side comparing the two teams only 5/6 players were involved in the Huddersfield game
-
Steve, you can only play the side in front of you, and they will not have left Manchester expecting or wanting that score line.
I would like to know the relative pay structure of the two sides.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking all young players at big clubs are on Mega thousands a week. They’re not.
-
No, not all are, but a lot of younger players are on more money than OUR first team, remember Jordan Houghton was due a loyalty bonus from Chelsea that would have bought a very, very nice house up here
-
Gaz at the moment we don't have to imagine anything to know none of our players are on mega bucks.
And you might be surprised just what is chucked about higher up the pecking order to players a lot younger than u23s and their families to get them to clubs.

Your right Gaz,but there are plenty out there who do earn good money. Herbie Kane for example is on a lucrative contract at Liverpool, compare that to Kyle Bennett for example who was on £700.00 a week when he signed for us under SOD.
-
You would think that the Man Utd U23 team would be full of very talented players so we shouldn’t underestimate how well we did today.

Selby it wasn’t negative I just pointing out some where different players and we had a mixture as well. Very pleased with the result nice to see Taylor, Copps and Gomes score as well as Trialist 2 with his magic hat.

Our team was a very young side aswell to be fair.
-
Our 1st choice keeper not playing either

The game was for our benefit not theirs .

1969, I have watched football since 1951, I have known teams like Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday and other sides help out Manchester United giving players to them after the Munich disaster to complete their fixtures, and Manchester City let them play games at Main Road when Old Trafford was bombed in the second world war.
In all that time I have never known Manchester United do any other club a helping hand or anything else to benefit other clubs, and in many cases have charged a fee to smaller clubs to participate in friendly games in the past.
You must be nuts.
-
Man Utd UNDER 23? Fielded a very young side too our benefit !!.
-
Not wholly for our benefit.
I would think that their coaches would have wanted to see how some of those players fared against a more mature set of players.
-
What they did was field a side against a Division 1 sid they thought would be good enough to compete at that level.
They were not good enough and on the day got spanked.
-

Yes they fielded some of the best crop of young talent at their age group, or else they wouldn’t be there....
MU is a business, that cultivates young talent internationally, I fail to see what age as to do with ability!
I’m sure you remember the last crop of young lads that came out of MU ..( Giggs’s gang )
Well they were plying there skills at 18-19 ....so exactly What are you trying to say ?
-
I'm not a Man Utd fan, but the Busby Babes were probably the most talented set of youngsters in the history of football.
If it hadn't have been for Munich, I believe they'd have won the treble long before Fergie's team in 1999.

Did we score 5 ... so we benefited and conceded nothing .. we benefited! We played 90mins at the Keepmoat.. etc etc ..
-
Well Rochdale got stuffed when we beat them 5-0 not so long ago at the KM.
I don’t think that they put out a side to favour us either.
