Title: Tier2/3 travel
Post by: River Don on December 07, 2020, 06:59:09 pm
So, what are the rules on this?

North Yorkshire police have been stopping people travelling to York station (T2) from Donny or Leeds (T3) for shopping and entertainment (basically they don't want people going to the pubs) Apparently they have also been stopping cars travelling into N Yorkshire, with the possibility of a £100 fine.

So, anyway I want to go to Donny from N Yorks for a couple of reasons. To pick up a second hand bike I'd like to buy and to take my Mum to visit my Dads grave.

Are these legit reason to travel into T3 or could I be hit with a fine?

Yeah, putting flowers on a grave for Christmas doesn't really fit into the category of work or education. Buying a bike is just shopping, so not really encouraged, though I don't think I'd really be breaking rules about bubbles or even be going indoors.

I reckon I should be ok. Knowing my luck I'd get pulled.

I thought all travel restrictions were advisory?

Stories like this make you wonder how advisory it is.

Maybe nobody's challenging them when stopped  or the papers trying to do what they do best :)

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were on Monday named joint patrons of NHS Charities Together as they arrived in Scotland for the first stop on their whistle-stop Christmas tour of the UK, so  are the rules for the rich different

They are. Tell them to go and catch some criminals.

Our Xmas trip to centre parcs this week has been cancelled as we are in a tier 3 area and CP won't access any guests from tier 3. Even tho the place we are going currently has higher weekly infection rates that Doncaster but is a tier 2 area.  A cabin in the woods is a damn sight safer than going to the asda!!!!    Gutted is an understatement!!

I agree it only says advised - I went to York on Tuesday I was expecting to be challenged having seen on the news that cars were being pulled over. Never saw anything

The cows in the field 800 yards down the road, if they are at the top of the field they are tier 3 but if they wander down to the bottom of the field they are tier 2.
They have not been stopped yet.

Do it , if you get fined refuse to pay it and it will be thrown out of court, you haven’t broken any laws remember that....no LAW as been broken

Do it , take your mum to the grave, when you need to see someone you love to remember happy times it just needs to happen

Staggering hypocrisy again. Not an ounce of self awareness.
