Moore & O’Driscoll were born within about 20 miles of each other and both represented foreign national teams. What makes Moore more English than SOD?

Dikov's surname begins with D.
O'Driscoll's surname has a D for its second letter.

I was going to say Saunders as he's the only one that hasn't played for a team he's gone on to manage but then Fergie's wiki page has him listed as being a player at Peterborough but not making any appearances so posibly not that despite saying he was player manager.

At one point under O'Driscoll rovers were the highest placed Yorkshire team in the entire footballing pyramid- all the others have never been that close therefore O'Driscoll is the odd one out!
