Another one 2020 has taken
-
I just read about that an hour ago on the bbc sport website.
A very colourful and interesting character.
-
The best thing was when he was managing Manchester United he was having an affair with the Manchester City assistant managers wife - a woman called Mary Brown
And the chant went up in the derby match; He’s up Mary Brown#

It was the Man Utd physio’s wife
He got sacked for it, left his wife and married Mary Brown
-
Another character gone RIP Tommy
-
He had a good long life though.
Always thank him for giving us Clish and Rabjohn.
-
It thought it was Lawrie Brown’s wife, he became the England cricket physio, and song I heard was “ knees up Mother Brown “

Laurie Brown was the United physio and later England physio - it was his wife that Docherty had an affair with and later married. I’m too young to have any idea about the chant but as mentioned above surely it must have been “he’s up mother/mary brown” - if not they missed a trick there!

Yes it was as above ...
... and his favourite "joke" after being ill for a long while was "my Doctor told me to get as far away from Football as possible - so I took the Wolves Managers job"
-
I remember him being interviewed on local TV when he was having a go at managing Altrincham FC.
He was trying to adjust to having players ring him on Friday to say they couldn't play becaus :lol:e they had to work on Saturday.
A bit of a culture shock for the lad
