He's definitely not one of the two mentioned this week but the club do still want to bring Sims back this month if it's possible.
-
Is he fit yet ?
-
Reading that article he’s not training with the first team bubble but the manager says he’s back in so what he’s doing ?.
-
Recovering?
-
I've been told he's 'on the grass'.

I've been told he's 'on the grass'.
Will be quite sluggish then.

I'm taking this with the same pinch of salt as if it was reported by EFLHub..
-
Be a massive boost if true

A word of caution, Pete O Rourke has been 100% wrong on transfers in the past!!!!

Till its on DROS, it hasn't happened..

Similar piece in Football Insider.

Likewise he has been 100% correct in the past. Most of the ones I've read on twitter from him are pretty accurate!
-
Hold on! If sometimes he's 100% wrong, then 100% right, then he can't be 100‰ of either.
Half right. 50-50 chance, toss a coin? Any of us can do that!

Half the time he's 100% right, the other he's 100% wrong ha ha.

I can't remember the player he suggested we were going to sign it proved to be a non starter with no connection.
I tried to contact him to discuss what proved to be duff information but he failed to respond. I am not saying he is wrong this time but wait till its on our official site before getting excited.

A bit late for that Alick - have you seen twitter? It’s about to explode!
And this is only a rumour on Sims. God only knows what will happen if we get the other 2 as well.
-
It would be better than fantastic if we get a Josh back.

Alan,
I would be in WONDERLAND if it turns out to be true

Hmm, better sit down then Alan.
-
I’m supposed to be looking after my blood pressure!
No chance of that at the moment.

Oooohhhhh, you are such a teaser.

Depends which Josh it is in that case, surely Hound? I'm not sure how much we'll improve if it's, say, Josh Widdicombe.
;)
-
Way are you lying SM you know the board won't back the manager and we are a selling club, board aren't football men, won't us to stay in league 1 etc etc
Fyi this is a joke. In rovers we trust, in DM we trust.
-
Ha, I didn’t know we had had her.
Well, apart from SS.
OH.... WAIT. That was Scawsby Steve and Anne Widdecomb wasn’t it.
-
Would be a massive statement of intent if we get Josh back permanently, quality player & would be a fantastic addition! :clapping:

Just to be clear Lincs, we are talking about getting him back on loan until the end of the season.
One step at a time.

Agreed. Would be a big boost to the squad as a whole I'd say to even just get him on loan. Need to be in the next league up to consider anything else but clearly a big pat on the back for club, manager and player if it can be arranged.
-
If Sims comes back, and the 2 players we hope to get in next week are of the quality suggested, I think we could achieve automatic promotion, let alone the play-offs.
-
Wait a minute. Aren't we forgetting something? We won't go anywhere by selling our best player, that Bill Whitman or whatever his name was!
-
Sims 18k a week and the fact championship teams will be all over him on a free in the summer. Loan until then is the best we can hope for

Agreed entirely. Even if we get up there is no way we would even consider matching his wages

Why would we need to match it? He'd be going down at least one division so he knows he'd be on less. It might be a Tommy Rowe situation where he wants to play for the manager or club over money.

Are you really suggesting Tommy Rowe is on the same wages as he was with us?

I think he’s suggesting Tommy Rowe took a pay cut when he signed for us from Wolves.
-
I agree with Donny he was happy and loved it here , he might go somewhere else and not be happy and he knows and gets on with the lads, so yes he could take a cut for that happens

Dis. There's also if he went to another club he could have earnt more also.
-
He liked his time here and knows that he could come back, fit in and get game time. A possible promotion on his CV and be in the shop window every game.
He knows that when the season ends he will be in demand and can take his time to choose the right team.
That scenario could be far better than rushing in and not being happy, even if on a bigger wage.
-
There's cuts and then taking a cut that puts you on 20-30% if what you were on.
I reckon he'll not get that anywhere but still get double or triple what we can offer.
-
18,000 x 4 = 72,000 per month
72,000 x 24 = 1,724,000 over a 2 year contract
got to pay tax on that but maybe with that wedge behind him money is not his main priority.
