Puts us in the same bracket as Crewe but thinks we are "slightly better". Taylor Richards goal was going wide. Bemoans luck as our deflection went in and they hit the post and it fell to our defender. WOW!
-
The guy is a fool. We always get cheated at their place so delighted we crucified them tonight.
-
We are slightly better. By 2 goals than Crewe.
As for everything else it’s just another one of those “reviews” where Managers have had 0 answer to the opposition so blame it all on luck. Like the shot/cross early on that nearly fell to Taylor but there defender fell into the path of the ball. He conveniently forgets those bits.
-
Well unfortunately you make your own luck can’t score if you don’t shoot, glad that we scored 2 nice first half goals, came out second half and didn’t really get out of second gear but did what need to be done
-
To be fair lads it isn’t long since DM was getting slated for saying our performances were good a few weeks ago when we knew they weren’t.
It’s just manager speak, they all do it.
-
Lives in Donny so nice short trip home for him.
-
I thought he lives in Ranskill, he married a girl from a big family in Harworth
-
Crikey! How does he get down to training every day then? He won't be going on his bicycle will he? Virus? What virus...?

Titter. Love it.

Assistant Manager Nick Daws lives in Bawtry so car sharing !!

You mean Hodges and Daws travel to South London every day for training.
Surely not. Hodges is from London area i think. Why would he live up here and what’s more i don’t think he would be allowed by the Wimbledon board to live so far away surely.
If you know it is a fact fair enough but i am staggered if it is true.

Where do you think Darren Moore lives?

I have no idea Filo. But assume he lives relatively near to Doncaster now.
Travelling long distances almost every day of the week can’t be clever. Extremely tiring.
-
They'll spend a few nights a week in digs lots of people do for work especially before covid.
-
See someone mentioned Hodges married a girl from Harworth.
So if he lives up here I just cant see him travelling to London every day.
He must stay down there most of the week surely.

Crewe are a very good team, before they lost Ng and picked us a few key injuries they played football as well as anyone in this division.
We had very good moments last night but I don’t think it was a brilliant performance by any means. Obviously the shape of the game changes when a team scored early, and we did keep them at arms length, but we’ve played a lot better than that this seasons.

Apologies - his family are in Donny where he spends some of his time but yes, he'll be put up near the club for the majority.

Can do it in under 2 hours by train

Doncaster.

A managerial career is such a short one nowadays, I would guess that very few of them uproot their families when offered a job in a different part of the country. Most will have a family home and a ‘base’ close to the ground. They would then plan their week around matches and training and be in the place where they need to be.
One other thing, players don’t train every day and quite often Managers leave the sessions to the coaches (although I expect that DM is more hands on than that).
-
He was part of Mark Hughes’ entourage as Hughes went around the country from club to club and throughout that time he has always been based in or around the Doncaster area. Last I knew - a couple of years ago -the family had bought a house in Bawtry just off the high street.
-
Players and managers do commute quite far for training, Campsall. Look at Whiteman, Smith, Taylor who all travel/travelled across the Pennines to train at Cantley Park. Copps commutes from up Guisborough way every day too.

Hodges bought some land in Ranskill and had a house built there, does Darius Henderson still own the house in Bawtry near the entrance to the sports field

Yes i know but London and back every day is a bit much.
Anyway Moncaster has said his family live up here but he stays in London most of the time.
Wouldn’t surprise me if a few of the players stay over in The Doncaster area maybe at the Crown Hotel or other players homes on occasions. Even a trip to the Manchester area almost every day would not be doing the players any favours with travelling fatigue.

Ranskill sounds about right, D III! DN postcode, so, close enough!
-
I do imagine they have digs, but London isn't that bad if you go by train, couldn't imagine the car every day though, that would be torture.

Yes the train 1 hr 40 mins ave but then you would have to get the tube or tubes to get to your destination.
Or a taxi through the horrendous London traffic.
No thank you very much.
Any one doing that almost every day just be a masochist imo.
-
Rovers used to own some properties at Lakeside which players and staff used.
They probably still have them.
-
Did'nt SOD used to stay/live at Mount Pleasant?
-
Horrendous London traffic Camps? The streets are deserted
-

Sod used to live in or near the flats at Cantley water towers

Think we went round on this a few months ago. Consensus was that some or all of these were actually JR investments that he let to players no doubt at reasonable rates!
-
He’ll be spotted more often in the near future as him and Nick Daws have been sacked by Wimbledon

hasn't Colin w*nkers wife lived in Cornwall for 30 year's, whilst he flits from job to job round the country only coming home after he's been sacked?
-
Well he just been sacked

Glynn Hodges used to own/run the Huntsman pub on the Great North Rd at Torworth so owning a house at Ranskill would make sense. Kevin Horlock lived at Ranskill when he played or rather didn't play for us.
Didn't realise Darius Henderson lived at No.1 Yorkshire in Bawtry although I knew he had grown up in Doncaster, a few lads I know used to go to school with him and I would often spot him at The Dome in the summer months with his then partner and kids. No.1 Yorkshire is currently up for sale for a £1m although I think that's dropped a few hundred thousand since last year.
