Title: Lincoln v Rovers
Post by: NickDRFC on January 30, 2021, 02:01:54 pm
1 change, Wright in for Taylor. Will be interesting to see if Halliday is playing further forward or if it will be James, with Halliday in central midfield.

So Bostock cannot be ready giving next week to get fit.
According to Liam Hoden tweet Omar Bogle has Covid so that’s 10 days isolation. I bet he was tested before entering our training camp as such.

A minimum 10 days, he will be away form the team - but the after effects could keep you out for a lot longer, depending on the severity.

Thought he might go with Lokilo instead of Taylor but might be shrewd with Halliday instead given his shooting practice on Tuesday.

Lokilo is coming off a concussion so would have been unlikely he can play 90 minutes today.

Crafty team, they are good and play at a good pace, but also make a lot of off the ball fouls stopping runs. We are not playing well with poor control, and passing. Their passing is very good, fizzed at each other - we don't tend to do that, when we do it comes from Taylor Richards and we cut through each time.

Title: Re: Lincoln v Rovers
Post by: NickDRFC on January 30, 2021, 03:53:59 pm
We had a free kick that kept rolling forward for Smith so think it was slightly in our favour but seems to be coming across the pitch more than end to end.

Bloody hell... that was a nervy half. Lincoln are a very good side. Not dissimilar to us in their movement. But, we lead and it’s all to play for.

We looked a bit sloppy at times. First touch letting a few down and passes going astray. Brad Halliday uncharacteristically sloppy a few times. But we’ve got away with a few times when they’ve had chances.

Expect DM to figure it out.

A win here would be up there with “the Mansfield moment” albeit earlier in the season. It’s a six pointer.

Keeper always saving that from the moment it was given - he oozes confidence for a kid.

As soon as the ref (rightly) started watching for encroachment there was only one outcome if the shot was on target.

Is this ref bent? Yellow card for winning the ball for Big Tom?

Wonder if he saw a replay of the first half possible hand ball penalty shout and is trying to even things up?

I wonder if TR went off due to team play. I think I saw him pass the ball once.

I don't mind him being selfish and then scoring, but we seem to be having more possession now.

We've been poor going forward out wide today.

But we've been fantastic at lots of other things. This is a superb performance.

Aye but we've not had it stick enough up there which had allowed them to keep having chances and eventually having two penalties which they could possibly have won the game from!

What a performance that was. Every single player was just so up for it, knew their job and did it well. Lincoln were always looking to start fast and dominate and after Richards' goal in the 15th minute we just had to defend for our lives at times.

The Admirable Crichton....

BRILLIANT WIN.

I don't think it was a foul by Balcombe looking at it again. Fine margins. Massive saves though. I reckon he's the best keeper we have had since Dieng. Maybe slightly better.

Madger - brilliant. The commentators were surprised taking Richards off but he'd lost his way. It's like a new signing to have Gomes back. We had been missing something between the holding midfielders and Fej and Madger linked that up really well.

Lincoln - by far the best side I've seen us play in the League this season. Appleton is a very good coach. And they play with speed and movement.

We rode our luck but what a defensive triumph. A couple of the lads a but off it today but holy sh*t th
at is a HUGE result.

Or maybe he just isn’t aware of it. No need for Big Feys sarcastic reply. Even if it was said in jest.

I don’t know if available to you DMC, but there is a stream called “IFOLLOW”, you can pay a £10 fee every week and get to watch any game of your choice.

Alternatively, if you have a fire stick the games might be on there. I have used one abroad before when on holiday and it worked perfect.
