God help them, I never forget him ducking out from a high ball in case he had to head it. I hope they don't get relegated, but there is one way to make it more likely!

If we're thinking about the same incident, it's actually worse. He pretended to jump, AFTER the ball was long gone.

Shame he's gone from Pitttodrie. I've enjoyed winding up my Aberdonian (always unhappy at the depreciation of the shekel) friends. Yet another Rovers reject who could only get a game in Jockland.

Some Shrews on twitter saying he’ll be a great target man

They’re gonna use him as a dart board aren’t they?

To be fair, they did name a stand after him at Pittodrie so he must have done alright.

Amazing - as soon as you both made reference to this I remembered it and the scorn I felt at the time for someone NOT trying for the best outcome

Totally different to Jordan Henderson on Sunday desperate to stick his head on ball v WHU while knowing a boot would arrive at the same time as his head

Curtis Main also scored one of the best goals at the KM, vs Bristol City.

The lad has talent as those goals prove, but why was he below par at other times.?  A local of confidence.?

Fans don’t realise how getting on players backs can affect confidence.

Curtis Main, Curtis Main...I bet you think this thread is about you

You walked onto the Keepmoat and the defences were in a knot
Your shot strategically clipped below one post
You bent it oh such a lot
You had one eye on the goalie as you watched that swerving shot
And all the fans dreamed that there is the winner
There is the winner, and...

Curtis Main, you probably think this song is about you
Curtis Main, I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't You?

You scored one several games ago when you were still quite new
Well we said that you made such a striking star
And that you would score a few
And we screamed away at the things we loved and one of them was you
We had some dreams, they were goals in our Keepmoat
Goals in our Keepmoat, and...

Curtis Main, you probably think this song is about you
Curtis Main, I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't You?

Well I hear you went up to Valley Parade and your goal naturally won
Then you tuned your TV into Wembley Stadium
To see the total eclipse of the Scum (Weeds)
Well you're where you should be all the time
And when you're not you're on
A run through the middle or the shoulder of a full back
Shoulder of a full back, and...

Curtis Main, you probably think this song is about you
Curtis Main, I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't You?

I actually thought that there was a decent player somewhere within Main. He showed glimpses but nowhere near enough.

As said above he seemed to have the heart of a mouse, his record since leaving us probably shows that we didn’t let one slip through the net really.

Not surprising he didn%u2019t become a success at Rovers with some of the foul abuse he got from so called supporters.
He also had a manager in DF who couldn%u2019t man manage.
The lad had ability just never any confidence to show it on a consistent basis.
He did well at Motherwell and Aberdeen so he can%u2019t be a complete muppet can he.
As you say IDM he scored a few absolute cracking goals for us, Bristol City and Bradford City both spring to mind.

Fans don%u2019t realise how getting on players backs can affect confidence.
Above post in wrong place.

We gave up on him and loaned him out to the same division, hardly treachery! Can't fault him for that, but I can't say I miss him. That goal at Bradford was the only bright moment for me personally.

Didn't he score an absolute beauty coming in from the left over the keeper from about 30 yards at the Keepmoat.

Yep that was against Bristol City.

1.07 here https://youtu.be/RTQQXiZcSQE

Also scored a neat back flick type goal at Rochdale.

I thought that there were definitely glimpses of talent there with Main, the issue being that they were so few and far between.

I have never seen a player duck out of headers or challenges as much as him, he would have made Terry Austin look like Alan Little.

LoL.
You know I apparently leave a gap and yet you STILL type in the wrong place.

The thing about Curtis Main is that he has for many years been living the life of a pro footballer.
I bet there are plenty on here who would have liked to have had that opportunity.

For me, as with any other player who pulls on the shirt, they get my full support wherever we play, but the day he bottled challenges & blatantly pulled out of headers, well that's when I lost my support for him. He's done nothing since leaving us & the odd worldy just papers over the cracks, wonder if he still runs around like a headless chicken, his positional sense was awful.
